Special thanks to Snail for his help with a bit of data recovery in the last third.

Special screw-Zarbans to Zarban for peer-pressuring nice, normal people into just doing commentaries all the time.

The instances where the s comes before the t are typos.

The episode is titled, as if three separate plural items, "on Snow, White, and Huntsmen."

This thread makes me sad.

I mean, you could build an argument on this line of thinking. Alas, I don't think it'd be wise to do so, because it's fucking hard to tell where legitimate storytelling complaints end and general "this is the way of things" fatalism begin.

Let's call the whole thing off. Who's got a cave and some bits of charcoal?

Trey, I strongly recommend snagging Zombie Spaceship Wasteland from Audible. Patton reads it, and it's the way to go if possible.

Man, if we didn't have the rotating "cool projects" banners, I'd make that the banner constantly.

"The guy with the incredibly thought out joke posts is not the bar we are trying to clear. Appreciate him as a singularity, and please try not to let it change your expectations."

Snow Crash.

Also, Snow Crash.

Not the best book ever, but my favorite. The one I go back to the most.

At the beginning of the novel, the main character, Hiro Protagonist, discovers the name of a new pseudo-narcotic, "Snow Crash", being offered at an exclusive Metaverse [internet, this was published in 1992] nightclub. Hiro's friend and fellow hacker falls victim to Snow Crash's effects, which are apparently unique in that they are experienced in the Metaverse and also in the physical world. Hiro uses his computer hacking, sharp cognitive skills, and sword-fighting to uncover the mystery of "Snow Crash"; his pursuit takes the reader on a tour of the Sumerian culture, a fully instantiated anarcho-capitalist society, and a virtual meta-society patronized by financial, social, and intellectual elites.

For the show?

No, we've got a Super 8 commentary in the stockpile, and we did Thor a couple weeks ago. We're fiddling with it. I think I'd like to settle somewhere on the 50/50 side of things, myself, we'll see how it shapes up.

So, rather randomly, immediately after recording this episode I saw the movie.

I more or less agree with the consensus of the panel. I was having a good time with it for a while, but at one point, I realized I didn't care at all. It had me and it lost me, and I think that's a result of the initial excitement of the tone and the art direction wearing off. It seems like the movie was having too much of a good time with its own style to take a look at the audience and see if they were still into it, too... alas.

The thing that really kills me about Kristen Stewart isn't even the acting, it's more that this girl never, ever closes her mouth. Truly. If you go see it, do me a favor and keep a little running log of how much time she spends with her teeth hanging out to how much time she spends with her mouth closed. I promise it's like 9:1.
