I'm assuming this was meant to be ironic, because there's no way in hell I'd show "the Schwarzenegger/Stallone/Van-Damme back catalog" to a 6 or 7 year old.

In terms of TV we're pretty well served - Aidan has already grown quite fond of Peppa Pig, In the Night Garden, and Bananas in Pyjamas.
Lion King is a good one, thank you FireProof!
Have to admit my muppet exposure is pretty minimal too, great idea Jimmy. Added.
I was watching Aidan watch his first movie trailer yesterday, and began wondering about when and how to introduce him to film. Right now he's a little young, not quite 4 and a half months, but he's learned a few words (he can sort of say "hungry", "hello", "mummy", and is trying to figure out their context) so it won't be too long until he and I can begin watching short movies together - although comprehension may take a little more time.
This got me wondering if there's a good progression for kids film beyond the recommended age ranges; do I start him with Star Wars right off the bat, or do we need to build a foundation beforehand?
So far the following are on the list, and I've begun sorting by complexity. Any thoughts on introducing small people to movies, and is anything significant missing (is there a podcast in this)?

I think it goes deeper than that. There has always been a space for religion and superstition in our cultures, perhaps the feeling (or lack of it) relates to exposure to different points of view?
Religion is often a way to build community. is the Internet (and places like this) a replacement for church? We come here and praise or damn celluloid deities, and feel good about ourselves for contributing.
I suppose my point is that the feeling of faith has many forms, and it's not something which I like to see systematically hacked at if people don't appear ready to consider alternatives. That doesn't build community.
Happy to be proved wrong, and it was a poor choice of words on my part. We're you both sceptical as christians?
At the end, it's about what helps people sleep at night.
Discussions about religion are never, ever satisfying. And they shouldn't be. It's a brain versus heart argument, and you can't think yourself out of a feeling. A factual, logical stance is incompatible with a point of view based on faith.
But by all means continue, I have a supply of popcorn.
I don't believe in any of it, but as a fictional character, I'm pretty chuffed by Mr. Satan.
Let me expand this beyond a potentially inflammatory sentence. In terms of philosophy, I'm not opposed to Zen (as in the atheistic Mahayana school of thought), but do prefer action to zazen. I see the character of satan as an example of proactive attainment of knowledge and awareness of human nature. In my experience I find a focused approach, an open mind, and an acceptance of peoples drives works better than a more passive, optimistic frame of mind. I am not a satanist, nor a buddhist, and have trouble accepting the concept of a structured belief system in any form.
However, if you believe in god, that belief doesn't drive you to hate minorities, and it gives you comfort, then more power to you. I'd prefer to spend time with a Christian, Muslim, or Wiccan, than a -phobe.

I deeply appreciate These New Puritans. I want them to keep making albums until my death (beyond which, I won't care).

That would be an exciting montage of people sleeping for 12 hours, then buying a stock of redbull.
I thought America had more than six helicopters, but apparently not
We watched Olympus has fallen last night. My word, what a violent, thoughtless, America, fuck yeah!
Does Vimeo have the same "naughty naughty!" algorithm?
Nor Australia. I believe its an issue with the soundtrack
I love this a lot, and there's so much potential to do more with it. Very well done, would like to see more.
Web series?
Does Disney have anything substantial set for a 2015 release at this stage? Without Star Wars, where do they make their profit in the financial year?
No movie is so amazing that it can't annoy the fuck out of at least someone.
Unless it's the Princess Bride.
CG? No way, Go-motion all the way.
