So, as you might have heard, on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. PST (and going on probably until nearly midnight, the way these things tend to be) we're doing an all-day telethon stream commentary party session for ALL THREE Lord of the Rings extended editions.
It's gonna suck. But to alleviate suckitude, we're bringing out not just big guns - we're bringing out all the guns. Teague, Brian, Dorkman, Trey, Eddie, Ryan, Miki, Cloe, Anthony, Reedy, Chad, plus Holden, Paulou will be joining us live and in person, as will Seth Brower and Jeffery Harrell. We're the fucking fellowship. By the way, if you're in the LA area, shoot me a PM or an email and we'll see if we have room for ya. (Not on mic, but to hang out and all.)
Anyway, the stream will happen at the usual place, DIF Live, and it's gonna be a thing. A hell of a thing.
Also, not to put too fine a point on it, but if you've been waiting for the right time to toss a couple bucks in the donation bucket, we're gonna be needing a lot of DIF fuel for this shit. (Pizza and alcohol.) Just a thought. Not askin, just sayin, etc..
You guys psyched?
Anyway, in the meantime, this would be a good place to toss links, excerpts, videos and dissertations on the Lord of the Rings. Stuff we can pull up at hour seven when we're completely out of shit to say. Anything interesting you've seen, fun facts, that kind of thing.
...that was strange.
Premiere doesn't wanna mess with that shit, to put it shortly.
You'll need to rip them into something more real.
What I do is Google for "free [xxx] converter," where [xxx] is whatever random ass file extension you're working with. Premiere will like AVIs more than MOVs or MPGs, but all of those technically work.
Helluva artist.
*pour*
I'm now more curious than I was, but that's only half your fault.
Mostly, I just want you to write a textbook post haste. That was quite fun to read.
Sure, absolutely.
The question is really "do I trust this to also be telling me the truth about a future purchase or not," though. Which. Lol.
Jeffery Wrights definitive role was as Jean Michel Basquiat in the film Basquiat.
By the way, apparently my post the other day didn't go through, but this blew my mind.
He was Basquiat? Okay, he wins.
Everyone watch Basquiat.
I'm massively enamored with the idea of deep sea and space exploration.
Also, exactly what Squiggles said.

I'm incredibly hard to win over with a trailer.
Like, really incredible. Even trailers I watch and go "some editor fucking rules," still don't win me over.
You're expecting the turn to be "and I loved this trailer," but no. This looked like every other trailer.
So. I'm still gonna go with the boys on opening night to see the movie, but this recent round of trailers does not have apparent quality above the last, for me. It looked like a movie about The Avengers then, and it looks like one now.
The selling point is Joss, for me. If this trailer was nothing but "you know Joss, right? Check out THESE line deliveries!" I'd be somewhere in the ballpark of excited. Right now, I'm sick of this stuff.
And to be fair, even if it was a Joss trailer, still probably not. I'm not a grouch, I just can't be bothered to give a fuck. It might become my favorite movie ever, but they're apparently having a hell of a time getting my mental demographic onboard. Put all the exploding buildings you want in a teaser, trailer, movie, even sequel - I'd be more happy to be fooled by something that looked like an interesting performance [or characterization, or attitude, perspective, premise, angle, or aesthetic, or style, or anything halp], not set piece.
I love Joss Whedon, and I've liked a lot of his work. His perspective and personality win me over even when his projects don't. Right now, I'm looking more forward to the question in a 2019 interview about The Avengers than the actual movie.
Just finished King's 11/22/63 and John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, about to start some other book by Green.
I can emulate it in text form, I guess. Or it can come up in "pet peeves about your industry," an Intermission style topic that just occurred to me.
In this one particular case, you actually can't. This one has some time jumps (lol, source code) in the MP3 that make it impossible to sync.
But even generally, nope! Most folks listen to DIF without having the movie on. (To our surprise.)
Sorry for the glitchiness, guys. To repay you, here's a cat in zero g.
Whoaaaaaaaaaaa. I've met Terry, and Trey knows him. He's married to Pink Five.
Small world.
Holden edit: This is just going to be the Dark Knight thread instead of the other one I made.
To sound as smart as possible, we will parrot your better opinions of the movie and nobody will be the wiser.
So, give me your thoughts on The Dark Knight.
Nifty, I like.
I am interested in being on the podcast, if it works for my schedule. (Weeknights and weekend days, outside of DIF.) I'm sure you can manage without me, but if you set up a hard timeframe for When It Is Happening, if you can fit me in, I'm there.
Trey Stokes. A man for the people, and a man for the person.
...
I dunno, it made sense a second ago.
I see what you did there, Mr. Double Shot.
Source Code is coming out very soon. Harry Potter is less burny on our minds, but also gonna happen.
