So Teague, you were saying something about a secret early release for Raiders or some such...

Just sayin.

I'm not sure I could handle 3 DiF's in one day.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the heels myself, but find me a pair of these and I'll be in heaven.

+1 for Repo!. Alexa Vega, yes please.

Also Terrance Zdunich is a beast of a beast, love it.

Although my original contribution for this one is a bit of a toss up,

I say Ice Age, because it is unequivocally my favorite animated movie of all time and proudly sits on the podium of my instant go to movie, but most people I talk to about it are just sorta meh about it, a few go so far as to say they hate it.

But as for a legitimately bad movie...

Zoom.

Yes, the Tim Allen, superhero thing. It just hit me at a really weird time in my life and is just ingrained in my mind as one of those things that always lifts my spirits whenever I watch it.

But honestly I have a whole list of "bad" movies that I love.

And honestly, I really enjoyed Speed Racer when I saw it (assuming we're talking about the 2008 flick), but I havn't seen it in a while, so I'm not sure if it stills holds up....but...I still remember that kid and his fukin monkey pissed me off so much.

never did i say that I was treating it as canon. (If you'll note I both bookended both sides of that sentence with "according to Cameron").

And honestly I was just making an off hand statement/joke.

Ah, well I only really have access to Maya (Which I've never used particles in), softimage (Which I have never used), and Blender.

So...yeah. And I'm not sure if blenders particle system has been updated enough since I used it last.

Out of curiosity, what do you use for your particle effects? (Like the exhaust system your were talking about)

The only thing I don't really get is when you're talking about edge fidelity and crawling edges. I'm not sure what you mean by that.

I'm relistening to the Dawn of The Dead 04 commentary right now and you guys were talking about "this isn't an arc movie" and that got me thinking.

What is the merit of a character arc based movie; where the character starts as one person which you set up fully and formed at the beginning of your movie and by the end of the movie is changed in some significant and permanent way; versus a revelation based movie; where you just throw your audience headlong into the movie, don't explain anything, and as the movie evolves we learn who this/ese character(s) is/are.

Is there a merit to one over the other? As you guys said in the commentary that a revelation type of set up is probably better for DOtD because thats the way life would be in that kind of situation, does that apply to other situations?

...oh, I get it. You guys are joking. You had me going for a second there.

Oh I get it, your just being a douche today.

On the subject, I don't personally play games, but I am surrounded by 29 people daily who do game and talk about it constantly, and watch videos about it daily and every once and a while I get to watch them play. I've learned the basics by osmosis.

Keep in mindthis is coming from the non-gamer in this group. But I think a lot of games aproach storytelling from a very Kubrickian point of view. Where it's not so much about the point by point hits of a story, but about the experience of actually being there. I'm sure there are games out there that tell a "story" but it's much more about being in that situation and reacting to the surroundings inside this very basic construct of a story.

But like I said, I really need to start gaming, so feel free to shoot me down.

So I went back and relistened to this one last night and I'd forgotten how much of an angry commentary this turned into at times, holy shit guys. But I was wondering, has anything changed for Teague in the last year and a half of doing DiF in relation to this movie. Has he actually watched the entire thing? Does he still believe that which he believed before?
