I'd like to do the sound mixing, if nobody objects. Been cutting my teeth on that stuff for a while now. Plus Alex and I would be able to interface on the sound stuff pretty easily.

Post-Production people.

Owen and Dave have both expressed interest in cutting this. Anyone else? Whoever does cut it will (probably) be interfacing with Alex, because he won't be able to do much score-wise until he has a cut to watch, and won't be able to really dig into it until the cut is locked. So that'd be the order-of-operations.

Potential editorial staff, what software are you working with for cutting?

Premiere CS6 + Audition for any audio stuff, unless that gets handled by a dedicated sound guy.

Hologram, the hardest part of that is the tracking, the rest is just lighting and motion graphics work to make something cool. I think...Owen (?) was messing around with a hologram type thing like that a while back.

I've done some hologram type stuff before, but I don't think it was me. But I agree, tracking would be the most difficult part - but still nothing too tricky providing there's a good track marker within the frame (like the watch in the example video).

Anyways, I'm totally down to help out with this in any way I can. I'd quite like to edit it if that's not something you're planning on doing yourself.

Seeing as we've got a lot of creative types here, I thought it would be a good idea to put together a little database of sorts which shows just what it is everybody does. This way if somebody is working on a project and needs some extra help, they can check to see if there's anybody here that could do the job.

So if you wanna be added, just reply with what it is you do and I'll add you to the list. Even if it's just something you're interested in doing, whack it up there. I've not really got any voice acting experience, but I'd love to give it a shot. Also, if you wanna make any changes to your listing then let us know and I'll edit the post accordingly.

THE LIST!

Owen Ward - Editor, Screenwriter, VFX, Voice Acting

Enjoy some baggy goodness!

From that list, I'll pick:

DOGTOWN AND Z BOYS
ENRON: SMARTEST GUYS IN THE ROOM
AFTER PORN ENDS
A BAND CALLED DEATH
EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP
ROOM 237

I'm not much of a sports guy, so I can't really think of many sports-related docs. For music though, I'm particularly fond of all of these:

Some Kind of Monster, Anvil: The Story of Anvil, The Decline of Western Civilisation Part 2: The Metal Years, The Filth & The Fury.

RoughDraft is a freeware Final Draft emulator.

I hadn't heard of that before. Another free scripting option would be Celtx, although I think they're trying to bury it these days. You have to scroll down to 'Classic Desktop Software' and then sign up to be able to download it.

For iOS, I've only really ever used the default app and Stitcher. Can't really say much about them though, they both did their job.

Although if anybody could recommend a good podcast app for Android, that would be awesome. I've been using Player FM lately, which isn't too bad. The interface is a tad annoying though, especially for scrubbing through an episode.

The Fault in Our Stars

Enjoyed this one a lot more than I had anticipated. Really compelling and endearing character piece. I enjoyed seeing Laura Dern on screen too, don't think I've seen her in anything since Jurassic Park 3.

★★★★½

Maleficent

Not brilliant, but certainly entertaining. A nice spin on a classic tale. I would have liked to have seen more original creature designs though.

Just got back from seeing it myself. I went in to it blind, only having seen it advertised on the side of the bus and not really knowing anything about it apart from 'Tom Cruise is in some cool looking suit'.

It didn't really grab me until Cruise wakes up for the first time. Obviously I had no idea what the film was about, so this came as a nice surprise - but I'm sure I would have known it was coming if I'd seen the trailer. From there in out it definitely held my interest throughout (although it did start to drag around the middle).

Overall I'd say it was enjoyable, but nothing special.

I did like how JJ handled the leaks.

I've started using Spotify and I've been making use of the radio feature (basically just Pandora) quite a lot. This song popped up and I can't stop replaying it.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a playlist of the stuff in this thread? No? Tough, 'cos I've just went through this thread and put anything that I could find in to a Spotify playlist. Anybody should be able to add to it too, so feel free to add in whatever you like!

The Yeti gets a seal of approval from me as well. Teague's suggestion would likely be better suited to your needs though.
