I just watched The Purge and it was one big bag of 'meh'.
I have many girl friends.
It's a fuck buddy I need.
My friend, a semi-professional magician has started a blog- http://magicleigh.blogspot.co.uk/
Not much else I can add to that, really.
Yeah, OUTSIDE of britain, a brit accent is more of a David Tennant english thing.
There is actually no such thing as a single British accent. David Tennant's Doctor accent is (mostly) a London one.
Although, my point was more the fact that you offered to mimic accents when we have actual English and Scottish people on the forum.
I can mimic Brit and Scottish.
Ummmmm.......
*sniggers*

We also can't seem to get away from England, either. Of all the places he could possibly go in the universe, he keeps coming back to England.
What? The show is made there? SO!?!?
It's actually mostly made in Wales
While crap, do the Eddie Murphy films really make people's worst lists? What were your expectations going in? Remind me not to go to the cinema with you, I like bad films which know they're bad.
Not all early Eddie Murphy films are crap, though, is the thing. I can understand if it is something like Pluto Nash or Norbit but 48 Hrs and Trading Places are genuinely good films.
This thread is beginning to hit Poe's law for me.
If asked I would have said at least half the ones in here are supposed to be sarcastic... but...
Ugh, you people.
Jeez, if I knew you loved Superman IV so much, I wouldn't have mentioned it!
Now all they need to do is cast Batman. Again.
Last night I watched Miami Connection and Revolt on Netflix. Both are solid contenders for worst film ever made but I had fun laughing at how bad they were.
I hate that film with a passion. First film I saw at the cinema too.....
Superman IV: The Quest For Peace.
I am resurrecting this thread briefly to report the sad news that Mel Smith, of Smith and Jones, has died of a heart attack. He was 60. Smith was a gifted performer and writer but also a pretty good director too. Here is a selection of clips of Smith in memoriam.
Mel Smith (1952 –2013)
I'm hoping BKV brings the goods in the next episode of Under The Dome. He wrote the pilot, I have hope!
Falling Skies, Under The Dome and Terra Nova were all Executive Produced by one Señor Spielbergo. Coincidence?
The answer is yes.
I lasted longer with Defiance but haven't finished the season (nor will I) and I watched all of Terra Nova, to my shame. Never watched Falling Skies and I'm sticking with Under The Dome.
For now......
Oh dear, that thing
I must sincerely apologise to Zarban for this one, poor guy looked confused at times.
I'm not sure how I feel about the upcoming Godzilla film but I like this poster-
'All Pixar movies are connected'.....
Yes, they are all made by Pixar, distributed by Disney and have Cliff Clavin from Cheers in them. The end.
I was going to say this forum but decided to change it to the entire internet. It's a decision I regret but one I must live with.
I'm starting to think that there isn't a single film that the entire internet will agree on
I can agree with that, sure
I recorded a commentary for the pilot of Leverage with John Pavlich for his Sofa Dogs podcast. Shameless plug there
Oh, Zarban, I am disappoint, Some Like It Hot is great, it's a classic. Each to his own, though.
This week I watched GI Joe: Retaliation (not bad action, The Rock is awesome and Bruce Willis remains a stalwart but it's a bit dull), Man Of Steel (ugh) and The Town (quite liked it but it was mumble-tastic, I kept wanting them to speak louder and clearer). Thinking about what to watch next right now.
Did anyone else really feel like Michael Shannon's portrayal of Zod kind of, I dunno... sucked? It was flat, uninspired, almost clumsy, I thought. Was that just me?
No, it's not just you. I wouldn't go far as to say his portrayal sucked but I'm scratching my head at the praise he is getting from some people. He just looked pissed off and shouted a lot, he didn't have any of Terence Stamp's charisma, I'd be more wary of his Zod than of Shannon's. I'd just tell Shannon's Zod to calm the fuck down. Stamp brought more menace to the role by not acting like a spoilt teenager. I've had people shout at me while being inches from my face before, Nu-Zod wouldn't intimidate me, Old Zod would just have to glare and I'd be shitting myself.
