I also favour the LKH River Song regeneration transfusion theory as at least playing a part in this, because that would be dramatically more satisfying than an entirely new piece of wobbly wibble.
Plus, it's just like Moffat to call back to something we've seen before, that we thought we understood fully at the time, and give it a new meaning.
However, they could just as easily have Clara go looking for help to keep the Doctor alive...
Or something.

So, The End of Time pretty clearly established that Gallifrey was time-locked, right? So why does the Doctor think that he destroyed the planet and killed all of them when he knows that they're still out there? Can someone do a concise explanation of what exactly happened with the Time War, given what we learned in this new special? It's a conceit of these multi Doctor stories that you can never really remember what happened, or even that it did happen. Otherwise, the future you would know everything and just solve the problem instantly. So, the Doctor remembers he was going to push the button, then... well, after he regenerated, into the "9th" Doctor, he saw the Time Lords and Daleks were all gone, and figured he must have done it.Here's my interpretation (for what it's worth)
I thought that Raleston (Timothy Dalton), in "End of Time" brought Gallifrey back right before the Doctor's "burn them all" end game. So, when 10 sent the Time Lords back to the Time War, it was to their doom to be burned. So, the idea that Gallifrey is still out there might be a last ditch effort on the part of the Time Lords to avoid their doom. Some how they might have broken out of the time lock (again) but removed themselves out of normal space time. The Doctor wouldn't know since he expects Gallifrey to be gone.
Anyway, my thoughts.
There are lines in TDOTD to the effect that
Anchorman 2 ad showing in UK cinemas with 'Day of the Doctor'
Is this playable outside the UK?
Now, this is what I call showing off.
This, people, is how surprises should be done.
Which now makes me wonder what else we are in for, since this surely can't be the biggest surprise?
(Bee and Puppycat) must become a series. Who do I need to bribe/extort/murder to make this happen?

Road Trip 2: Electric Teague-a-loo
What? Too soon?
A friend linked this on facebook and I had to share. I have no clue where the original came from, but well, here it is.
Original, and how it was drawn.
Meanwhile, why did no-one tell me about Hobbes and Bacon?
We had to make the decision between putting in everyone's great takes and deliveries, or putting together a cut which flowed better and didn't drag as much. The tighter cut was made to leave us with something that's more watchable.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I'm used to writing and editing prose, and I fully understand that anything that doesn't make the whole stronger has to go, no matter how much you like any given snippet by itself.
There's one line I did about a million takes of ("yes, a million"), and none of them are in the final cut. So, either the segment it was a part of got dropped, or I really sucked.
Or both, obviously.
I got:
"something something...nicked my shirt, bugger."
"Something...said he'd get his dad on me."
And I'm fairly certain the last line is "Turns out his dad's quite big."Am I anywhere close?
Yes, you are anywhere close.
I'll take this opportunity to say that I didn't understand one word of what fcw said in this video.
My job here is done.
(Although I turned my accent up to eleven for dramatic purposes, I'd hope that actual Scots on the forum should have a reasonable chance of understanding me. It'll be interesting to get feedback from them to see if I turned it up to eleventeen instead. And yes, a shirt was mentioned.)

The sequence goes:
You get in, speak unintelligible Glaswegian as per the script, locator says "..."
Then Saniss gets in, speaks French, locator says "..."
You speak more, the locator says "...?"
Saniss says he's French, locator says "France"
You speak more, locator says "oh, Glasgow." Which for some reason I thought you were from.
Oop, sorry, missed that. Fair enough, that is where I'm from, but it's not where I live now. Happy to do it your way.
Meanwhile, in other news, nine missing episodes featuring the second Doctor have been found, and are already available on iTunes.
Doctor Submarine wrote:Any chance I could get a special thanks for my friend jake Schwartz? Couldn't have done my segments without them. Maybe there should be a special segment of the credits or people whose cars/cameras/whatevers we borrowed.
If we're doing that; Liam Swann, Thomas Smith and Daniel Gibson all helped me out.
Likewise, my crew were: Anna Damski, David Warman, Emma Warman. If we're doing that.

Very pleased that you got the shot of Big Ben(*) in there, too.
(*): Yes, I know 'Big Ben' is the name of the bell, not the clock tower. Please write your complaints on a postcard and send them to someone who cares.
Also, in anticipation of this being done: "woo-hoo!"
