Aztecs is a good story.  Even heard that there might be a special edition version of it could be done.

I'm just going to let my sister check it out each story & ask if she liked that story.  If she does then I'm likely show her the other DVDs that I have for that particular Doctor.

RANDOM QUESTION:  Is there a possible DW DVD that you would get even though the story might not be that good but the extras on it still make you want to get it?

Thanks Owen.  Trust me, I would rather let my sister see Geneis of the Daleks but she made it clear that she didn't want to see any stories that were more than 4 parts.  Probably just going to show her Ark in Space because that was a great story to quickly establish the Tom Baker's Doctor.

Okay folks, I'm tired of not being a Doctor Who guy. So. Where to begin? I read something in this thread about beginning with season 6, but I'm not even sure what's that supposed to mean.

Should I maybe start with the very beginning of the series? The 2005 revival? Any suggestions on the best way to go with this?

My sister is in a similar situation Saniss.  I suggested she at least watch 1 story for each of the Doctors from the "classic era" but she said that she didn't want to see any story that's more than 4 episodes/parts.  Agring I'm considering showing her these stories that I have on DVD.

1st Doctor - An Unearthly Child [it's the very first Doctor Who story so it seems right]
2nd Doctor - Tomb of the Cybermen
3rd Doctor - Spearhead from Space, Day of the Daleks, Three Doctors, Carnival of Monsters or Time Warrior
4th Doctor - Ark in Space, Brian of Morbius, Deadly Assassin, Robots of Death, Horror of Fang Rock or City of Death
5th Doctor - The Visitation, Earthshock, Five Doctors or Caves of Androzani
6th Doctor - Attack of the Cybermen, Vengeance on Varos or Revelation of the Daleks
7th Doctor - Remembrance of the Daleks or Curse of Fenric

Think those are good choices?  Got to narrow the choices so if you want to give suggestions go ahead.  It would be appreciative.

Glad to see that a Doctor Who forum was added to this forum.  Got interested in the series when SyFy Channel showed a marathon of it one day.  Have a bunch of the stories for each Doctor and while it's hard for me to determine who's my favorite Doctor, I enjoy each of them for one reason or another.

Some questions for those who are fans of DW

  • What are some of your favorite stories for each Doctor?

  • What are some of your favorite regenerations?  (actually regenerations, not overall story)

  • Whate are stories that you like even if they are considered "bad/rubbish" to most of the fans?

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you check this video called "This is Gallifrey/Vale Decem" that happened at the 2010 Doctor Who at the Proms.

Just noticed that as well John.  Nothing really to bitch about though.

I had no interest in seeing Battleship and you guys only reinforced that.  While you suffer in seeing this movie, you can take comfort in knowing that your suffering wasn't in vain.

DOWNLOAD THAT SHIT

Was a few weeks ago that I saw the 1st 2 episodes of “Avatar: The Legend of Korra” and have to say that they were a nice start.  There was a good mixture of what the original series was known along with the new series.

The show doesn’t officially start until later this month but I’m hoping that it given a chance to become as popular as its predecessor.

Sadly I arrived around the time you guys were ending the show so I wasn't able to hear the entire show.   sad   Fortunately you were able to upload this quickly so I can hear the entire thing.

Want to say that while I've been listening to DiF for little over a year, I've enjoyed every time I've been able to be for a live show and/or listen to your eps when they're available on archive.  You've guys been doing this for three years and not once did it seemed as though you were slacking off.  In fact, it looks as though you've only gotten better as time went on.

Congrates in having DiF go long as it has and looking forward to what you might have in store for the future.

We're some of the "special ones" Snail.  The ones that were crazy enough to stay up for the entire LotR show.  Although I was paying for it the next day I enjoyed the entire thing.

Right off I want to say is I can't believe that we actually survivied doing the entire LotR series.  Knew that it would take a long time to complete but that was something else entirely.  Despite all that, I greatly enjoyed the entire show and helped to keep me from leaving and/or passing out.

Probably everyone that was a part of it will take time to recover from it but I think I can say that it was all worth it.  If you wanted to do something like this again then go ahead as I'm sure that it'll be just as entertaining as this was.

First off, great Dark Knight Commentary.  Was a nice way to end the regular commentaries that DiF became known for.

TO DO LIST FOR LotR Marathon Commentary

  • Be rested

  • Have food ready

  • PLENTY of liqour

  • Find a way to keep yourself from going nuts during commentaries

Can't wait for the 3/11 show.  Looking forward to see how you guys deal with something that'll certainly be a LONG show.  Despite that, I'm sure that the live show will be one not to miss.

Where's the dark knight commentary?

The Dark Knight commentary is likely going to out for download next since there's no live show until the LotR marathon on 3/10.

As for the Source Code commentary, sucks that there were glitches with it but at least it wasn't completely lost.  Only real problem I had is that there's around an hour of silence at the end.  No big deal, just thought I would mention it.

A Superman movie needs Darkseid as the villain...

No doubt that the Darkseid characer would be a great villian for a Superman movie.  They've used him in some of the DC animated movies, even one of them having him fighting Batman, and it was done well.  Link to such a scene:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE5RXhPwlKc

If you want to see a good Superman vs. Darkseid fight check out the Justice League episode "Twiligh part 2".

Was unfortunately unable to be for the live show for this movie but after finally being able to listen the archive of it I have to say that this is definitely one of my favorites commentaries that DiF has done.  Trey's stories about his experience while working on it only added to it.

Not including the Nolan movies, this is perhaps my 2nd favorite Batman movie with the 1st Burton Batman and Mask of the Phantasm animated movie being my favorites.

I'm okay with the moment of forgetfulness.  At least we're getting a commentary so there's no reason to bitch.

Right off, it was nice to see that you went ahead and doing this commentary after whatever error came from the big six tallying.  Was entertaining and at the same time was informative.  Also like to see Seth do a commentary.  Wouldn't mind seeing him included in other commentaries.

No question, one of the key moments that came from the commentary was the comment that Dorkman made about the Rolling Stones and the Muppets.

I've got two more ideas when it comes to do for a possible future intermission.  The ideas are:

TV Movie - It can cover the overall thing.  Standalone ones, ones that are based of off of a show/video game/book/etc. and ones that are done as a possible backdoor pilot for a possible show.

Mini Series - What could be the advantages and disadvantages in doing a series that'll run for a  predetermined amount of time?  Another part can be what kind of genre that works better in the mini series format.

CORRECTION.  I meant to say that I WASN'T disappointed.  Sorry for the typo.

This was a fun commentary to be there live for.  Was a nice complination of complaints, anger and the occasional moment when you guys tried to explained how it could've been fixed.  Also glad that Dorkman and Brian said what happened in the show.  This was a commentary that was voted mostly to hear what Dorkman might actually say about the movie and I for one was disappointed.

One last thing, for DiF crew and all those who actually watched the WHOLE movie during the recording, I commend you but question if you're gluttons for punishment.   smile

skip the movie, watch the show, and imagine every possible way to screw it up

If you started now you'd have just enough time to watch the entire series before the recording tomorrow.

Although the movie only comprises the first season's story (what story there is in the movie), so you could easily watch the first season and the film today if you were so inclined.

During the commentary for Last Airbender will you guys also take some time to discuss the tv show?  At least those who have seen it.

Like the little Rodger Rabbit header.  Teague might keep it there for a while but maybe not that long.  Will admit that it sucks that the movie missed out from being in the Big 6.  Even more so since it missed it by just a few votes.

Ok, I've downloaded airbender, now i need to find the right booze to see me through it. Any ideas? I was thinking absinthe.

Whatever type of booze you have, I suggest you start really drinking it before the movie so that you'll soon be passed and probably come to around the time of the credits rolling.  Believe me, that might be the better choice then actually watching it from start to finish.

I have a suggestion.  Why not during the Last Airbender commentary there is some type of drinking game?  Getting plastered might help the viewing.

Sorry to Trey but I believe that you liking the movie is VERY unlikely.  If you're not a fan of the show that the movie is based off or never seen it might help you enjoy the movie more but I'm not betting on this upcoming commentary being a favorable one toward the movie.

If I can make a suggestion, liqour.  Lots and lots of liqour.

Can't really complain what the Big 6 ended up being.  Out of all of them, "Unforgiven" is the only one I haven't seen but I can fix that if I want to.  Sucks that Rodger Rabbit missed out by just THREE votes as it was one I really wanted to hear you guys do.  Hopefully you consider doing it some time after the changes to DiF takes affect.

Speaking of which, I'm perfectly okay with you not doing a commentary on a regular bases.  If you can do one every other month that'll be fine if not, oh well.  Anyways, can't wait to see how you guys do Last Airbender.  Probably the best way to get everyone eager to hear that commentary is this:  WARNING!  WARNING!  DORKMAN RANT UPCOMING.

That commentary might need a viewer discretion when it's all said and done.
