Somehow I managed to miss this whole thread.
I'm curious to hear how the results of last week turned out (if there's any results to hear, the posts were unclear on this matter).

My only suggestion is that Dorkman needs to always be drunk. Drunk Dorkman is the best Dorkman.
Trey acknowledges that Spork wrote:Dude, Season/Book 3 is when shit goes crazy. I can't wait.
Yep. There's gonna come a night when Twitter's gonna freakin' explode. In your face, Downton Abbey.
Though as I recall, book 3 is getting split into 2 Seasons, so we may have to wait on some things... It's taking so much willpower not to theorize and spoil.
After reading the books, I can only assume the TV show spends 4 seasons threatening that "Winter is coming", despite everyone being up to their necks in snow. I'm also going to assume that season 3 is a bit of a rambling mess, which focuses on the least interesting characters.
Never seen an episode.
Dude, Season/Book 3 is when shit goes crazy. I can't wait.
As for the show, I'm with Spork that I watch it mostly to see how they adapt the books.
Yay! Someone acknowledged my post!
*Drunk post disclaimer.*
Basically, I'm a fan of the show because I was a fan of the books. I was already invested in the world and the characters, and now I get to see them take on physical form. The anticipation for season 3 isn't "I wonder what will happen" but "how will they portray this scene/that character".
I can't really know if I would have enjoyed the show if I hadn't read the books first, but I think it says something that I've been able to forgive them for the changes they've made. Mostly.
Minecraft. That is all.
Went to a party, got very very drunk, ran around headbutting people. The night was a success.

Eh, I let this slide because that's how romance worked in fiction for a long, long time. I mean, look at any Disney fairy tale. Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid -- it's all love at first sight. It's stupid but you can't really fault the film for an element of the story dating back to the novel.
Yeah, I know it's a thing that stories do, but it's a bit of disbelief that I had a hard time suspending.
Like I said in my Hobbit post, I'm pretty new to having opinions on movies, but this is one I've seen at the relevant time, so I might as well say things.
I haven't read the book, seen the stage musical, or any other adaptations (though I did watch a nostalgia chick video about it), so this was my first real experience with Les Mis.
First off, Anne Fucking Hathaway. Amazing. I've always had this weird bias against her for no particular reason, but she blew me away. Though, as Dorkman pointed out, that does mean the most compelling scene in the movie happens fairly early. Seriously though, if she doesn't make you cry, you have no soul.
The innkeepers really threw me at first. Once again agreeing with Dorkman that they didn't belong in this movie... From the introduction of HBC up until a few lines into "Master of the House" I was very nearly facepalming, but somewhere during that number they completely won me over by being more fun than they had any right to be.

Trying to organize my thoughts... I'm not good at this having opinions thing...
But dear lord, so many groans and facepalms. Most of the dwarves were the worst kind of stereotypical fantasy comic relief, each one more of a cartoon than the last. Which is even more glaring when you put them next to the few dwarves who had no prosthetic noses, no silly hairstyles, etc.
And Radagast. His existence within the movie? Totally fine, sure, go for it. His being another fucking cartoon? The rabbit sled? The birdshit on his face? HELL NO MOVIE WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME???
Also, long fight sequences, too much cg, etc etc
I wanted to like you move, I really did, but there are some things I just can't forgive.
P.S. I'm bad at posting, and bad at having opinions on movies, but I just got home from the theater and needed to air my thoughts, jumbled as they may be.
I fail to understand how this would pass outside the bible belt, considering its intent.
Dude, have you HEARD of Arizona?

ETA: I do not understand this sentence:
This is law assuming everyone is pregnant.
Well, yes, but if they make a law like that with a time limit that's how it'll be measured in any state. So yeah the law is fucked up, but not for the fact that the fetus could technically be a couple weeks younger than what it's legally counted as, but because this is happening AT ALL. That's all I'm saying.
Umm... Pregnancies are ALWAYs “calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period of the pregnant woman”. It's nothing new, that's how it's DONE.
So kinda the wrong thing to get pissed off about here.
Okeydokey, I'll try to have one up here in a couple hours.
Yay!
I thought about it. I think I'll end up doing that.
Is there one in particular you were interested in in the meantime?
"Who's There?" To start off with.
1. I think it's awesome, but you already knew that.
2. You have piano tutorials, but what about just lyrics and chords? (After all, not everyone plays piano.)
An excuse to show rat pictures? I'm in!
Peachblossom:
Stormageddon:
Peach and Stormy boxing (not making out):
Paya:
Yay! (Though now it will be stuck in my head)
And where are the MP3s we asked for...?
I ask this as well.
I'm gonna write Mister Perfect tonight.
Well?
Um... Hi! *waves*
I was coerced into joining the forum after spending all day in the live chat yesterday.
Yep.
Back to lurking now.

That was the best part, haha!
Indeed it was!
I still have "Gibtown" stuck in my head
