I missed the whole Fraggle Rock thing growing up, jumped straight to The Muppet Show, and I still haven't seen a single episode, but that might have to change. This looks amazing.
I'm game.
Been working on learning Blender's new geometry nodes system with a spooky procedural tree system for one of the shots in Innervate that needs a buuuuuuunch of these.
Feed in some rough line geometry to guide the basic shape of the trunks and main limbs, and GeoNodes does the rest.
I have exactly zero ability to be even a little bit objective about this show, but fuuuuuuuuck it looks so good.
Exposure aside (although honestly dude it doesn't look too bad for gopro footage), that is some mighty pretty countryside you've got there I must say.
Infinitely better, much cooler.
A-fukin-greed my friend. I'm so ridiculously happy with how this matte extension turned out.
And now In Living Motion whynot:
(Still some work to do, I haven't even touched the roto on her since 2018 so there's something kinda funky going on there I think)
2021 was one of those years where I feel like I finally unlocked the next level of both my art and how I relate to my art, and where I want to be going and doing and all that jazz. So I thought it might be fun/interesting to do a little shot evolution comparison through the years.
(Side note: Between the two 2018's is when Teague did his notes pass and suggestions random recording thing he does and somehow managed to unlock the mental block in my brain and I very literally had that "all my instincts suddenly flood back into place and I feel like I've regained my power" moments, and remembered how VFX work after not touching it for like 5 years. So if nothing else, we can all blame Teague for where I am now...thank? Maybe thank.)

I'm not a huge fan of social deduction games, but I could be down for Among Us if that's what everyone else wants to go for.
As for modded, yeah afaik it only works on desktop since you have to use a modded client to launch it.
I'm down for sunday. I have Quiplash but none of the Jackbox packs, but we could also do Gartic Phone which is free. Basically Telephone but with suggestions & drawing, and has a bunch of different game modes. Very fun.
(I watched a bunch of No More Jockey's back when I first got into Taskmaster and Alex's other projects, and I'm pretty sure you couldn't intentionally design a game that operated so entirely opposite of how my brain works. I kinda enjoy watching it every once in a while, although it's usually just "20 minutes of references BDA doesn't get", but yeah, not a game for playing for me.)
Assuming the weather doesn't take a turn for the even worse (HA. Last weekend= 0C, today = negative 38 with the wind chill. Fuuuuuuuuuucking northern BC) I think I'm still going to try heading home for Christmas weekend, so I'm out for next weekend. But I'm planning on being back for the following weekend, so we could aim for DiF Does New Years if enough people are around.
I'm down for this weekend if peeps are around.
Gad. And I do emphasize. Damn.
Just animals doin animal stuff.
Thanks dude! And big same, pretty much the second Julia started going down this road in the episode I was head over heels in love with the whole thing and it's been sitting in the back of my brain percolating ever since.
I've actually never played KRZ, heard of it, but that's about it. Gonna have to fix that soon I think. As for the actual inspo, basically it was the convergence of the two main thoughts going on when I was developing the idea: 1) In the episode Julia explained that she was aiming for a "midwest diner meets midwest open air chapel" sort of thing, so that gave me the overall shape of the 2 walls and point roof opening out. And I knew that I wanted to incorporate some more of the diner aesthetic into the walls. And then 2) I knew I wanted to make it a cryptid, ghost-story, sort of thing, and where I eventually wound up landing was the idea that this place that was basically metaphysically ripped out of another universe and exists here for a time and so everything around the edges is aged and destroyed and shredded, and then it gets more and more pristine towards the fountain. So that let me kill the two birds of "creepy, haunted place ripped from another reality" and "creating that shape" with one stone, and the rest just naturally fell into place from there.
Here it is folks, the b- okay not THE big one, but definitely the second biggest one. A while back I realized that it's been, literally years, since I actually posted any personal art that didn't have a WIP disclaimer on it because I have been so hyper focused on Innervate and I figure that's one of the reasons I've been so artistical bleh considering I used to work on like 20 different things at once, so I'm trying to do some more side projects and actually put some finished stuff out in the world. And a lot it is probably going to be fan art because I can at least emotionally distance myself from it enough to quash a lot of my paralyzing perfectionism until I relearn how to be like, a person again... and because I have a list about a mile long of fan art pieces I want to do.
And here's the first one. Based on an illustration Julia Lepetit did for an episode of Drawfee.

Edit: Did a bit of a re-comp on the last image.
Duuuuude that is so rad.
...and maybe a tad less bloom
Admittedly this is BigDamn "why would you even want a focal plane more than 1 mm wide" Artist talking here, but naaaaah, the bloom is primo stuff in here, honestly I could even see more wrapping around from the car headlights working well on the bottom panel. (Specifically sort of wrapping around the top-left side of the car/frame to balance the bright right side of the top panel. But that might just be me.)
In other musical news:
BDG, the absolute madman.
I've been so hyped for the release ever since they announced they'd be able to do it again this year, and I haven't even be able to find time to watch it yet, it's killing me.
Definitely do go back and watch the other two-...I mean, it's Andrew and Rob, obv it's amazing.
