No I'm not.
I'm getting a very Firefly-esque vibe from this, is that intentional?
I'm bored, so I'm rezing this thread and hanging out in the chat.
I'm still waiting for you guys to do Serenity.
I liked this commentary. Just one very minor correction: The root of Sirius is not dog, it actually comes from the ancient Greek word for scorcher, due to it being the brightest star in the night sky and when it appears in the sky in relation to summer. It's called the Dog Star because of its prominence in the constellation Canis Major (Latin for greater dog).
But what if it turns out to be a zombie virus? The people on the ground know this, and they do not what that shit in the US, no matter how tight the quarantine. For most of the movie it appears to be what Jeffery described, but just when it looks like they might make it, it's revealed that the military is going to blow the plane once it's over water and people start turning into zombies. However, some of the passengers are shown to be immune to the virus, and, realizing what's happening, are determined to find a way to survive.
maul2 is right, this all feels very fridgey to me. I think we have to start at the premise and work from there.
"After a catastrophic burst of the lower fuselage resulting in many onboard injuries and maybe death
Why? Planes don't normally do that, so why did it happen to this flight?
an international flight is not allowed to make an emergency landing because of a flu virus carton that's been blown open."
Anything that could be described as a flu virus carton would not be on a commercial flight. And smuggling it on would be ridiculous given how tight airport security is these days. It would be far easier and safer to smuggle it other ways, and no sane drug lord would smuggle it by air without very good reason. So, why is it there? And furthermore, as maul2 brought up, why is it keeping the plane from landing?
We need to answer those questions or make some changes before we can move further.
Maybe an episode or two of a tv show you guys like. Some Cowboy Bebop would be cool.
I can has ESB?
I'm liking it so far.
I would love to see you guys take on some Disney classics, like Lion King or Aladdin.
Also inevitable, is that awesomeness then proceeds to happen.
My mistake. The problem isn't that it's not scaling, it is that there are black borders on either side of the forum (the aforementioned pillar-boxing). What isn't as noticeable on a larger screen is a little annoying when you're working on a smaller one.
It does that because it was the easiest way to prevent it from breaking when side by side on the front page but still let it scale. Since that is no longer necessary, it could be changed, but I kinda like the look.
Give this cool geography game a try and see how far you get. I generally make it to level 7, but with all the country boarders gone, I have a hard time getting further.
You guys should do Kill Bill.
Seeing as this is the closest thing we have to a social thread, here's a link.
I request, no, DEMAND, you do The Pirates of Penzance.
Without looking it up or reading the rest of this thread, I knew his name was Crix Madine. I know way to much miscellaneous Star Wars trivia.
I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride.
This picture of the St. Maarten beach is better:
We see vailidity to that when we get the god awe-full miteclorians (sp) in Phantom Menace, which is a blatant attempt to explain the magic bean of the Force.
(as a side note, I always rationalized that one as a causality issue, these Jedi had noticed that all the force users had a measurable amount of this micro-organism in proportion to their ability, but cause and effect were never linked, I always thought it made more sense that it just happened that there was this bitty thing that was really attracted to a property of the Force using persons physiology, or static cling, and they just gathered more around and inside them the more powerfull they were. So once again basic logic failed them, just like the thinking that "balance to the force" would mean good would win ... umm doesn't balance infer that you would be essentially stalemated with the opposition? and thats were you ended up ... so result)
What's always bugged me far more then the medichlorians in the scene where their introduced is that Qui-Gon plugs the blood sample into his comlink to send to Obi-Wan for analysis. Do they have the ability to quickly and easily teleport matter in Star Wars? If so, why aren't they using it on a larger scale?
That is the most genius filter ever.
