That's a little harsh!
I completely agree about using the universe. I'm tired of movies like Rise of the Planet of the Apes that appear to be aimed at people who have heard of, but not seen famous movies. "Remember there is that famous line? Here it is!"
I get that studios are spending a lot of money and think they need brand recognition but all these sideways winks like the Kahn stuff here doesn't add anything if you've seen the previous films and you wouldn't miss it if you haven't.
Not the worst thing to happen at work but possibly The least sexy. My actual least sexy story started with some pretty sexy sex but ended with blood and a terrible 'pop' sound.
I work in a cinema which is cool cos I get to watch blu-rays after we close up. Some days however are worse than others. Back when we had projectionists we had someone to keep an eye of what was happening in the auditoriums between checks.
it came down the radio that it looked like there was some funny business in screen 6 and would I put a stop to it.
I was then phoned by the duty manager who made it very clear that I couldn't do anything sensible like saying "Excuse me, would you be so kind as to stop giving that blow job?" or "Fellatio cease!" Or in fact mention the sex act at all. I was to simply walk in and make my presence known and well... hope for the best?
Luckily they had left before I got up there. The next time this happened however was at 10pm one night just before the last film started. The couple in question had assumed just because they were the only ones in the room 10 minutes before the scheduled start time that no one else would buy a ticket.
This time however things were in fall swing and a group of us went up and made sure we stuck to the aforementioned rules. By standing just outside and giggling.
twice as effective.
Prompt - what is the weirdest booze you've ever drank?
Well if you think Willis would be up for a web series?
This is not the kind of movie I'd expect the exec of Saturday Night Live and the Bloke from the Rolling Stones to fund. It was pretty good but it does rather weave the pretend story with the historical more clunkily as it goes on. Overall rather good mind.
Has anyone seen the original Norwegian ?
Something different this week. We recorded a commentary for the first Christopher Eccleston episode from 2005!
Extended Edition - 014 Doctor Who Commentary #1 "Rose" !
Edit: Tom had a major hard drive failure and nearly lost the episode. unfortunately there does seem to be a minor sync issue.
The Director's Cut is inferior in my opinion.
It so hard to find the Theatrical Cut of Lethal Weapon now a days unless you know where to get one in America?
Looks like we've got ourselves a good old fashioned Jim-off!
I liked his episodes in other seasons (original opinion alert) but I hate his style as a showrunner. Riddles and mysteries are wonderful, but making things as complicated and convoluted as possible and then giving us an answer in the finale isn't a great way to craft them. I prefer Toby Whithouse.
Yeah, a lot of people seem to have come around to that after series 6. I'd love to see what Mark Gatiss did with the series he did pitch a version in '04
Wow! Here's a trailer with the 12th Doctor already!
(Very sweary. so maybe not for work or Fireproof children)
And, Faldor, guest appearances in one episode is slightly different from a semi-regular cast member becoming the Doctor
So your ruling out Peter Capaldi cos of his Torchwood stint?
Because he was already on the show and can't be the Doctor.
Two companions and One Doctor had been on the show before getting cast.
It wasn't a parrot but a cabbage!
I wouldn't say the TNG movies are bad but only first contact is great
Speaking of radio plays we actually snuck one into the opening of this weeks extended edition
Extended Edition - 013 Star Trek TNG Movies
Heres our Star Trek follow up!
Of course they can't announce their intentions they have to pretend to be terrorists atleast for a little bit
why hasn't this been done more? Full on radio-drama, with sfx/music, everything. Count me in for vocal tracks, possibly for music.
Theres quite a few podcast audio dramas out there and of course Radio 4 never stopped doing them so the notion it's a dead medium has always baffled me.
I'm actually working on something at the moment Auralstimulation give my thunder back! you stole it !
^ I can see my house
Trust me, from what I read, the negotiations were not pleasant and the fact that we have Daleks at ALL in the new series is a minor miracle.
I don't know the ins and outs of it but they did loose the rights whilst writing series 1 but were able to get them back. (obviously)
The way I heard it was more The BBC saying "Now we paid a lot of money for these daleks and your bloody well going to play with them!"
I've scored nice pop filters on eBay for dirt cheap
Yeah after reading this I jumped on ebay and got one for £3
Yeah, OUTSIDE of britain, a brit accent is more of a David Tennant english thing.
