Mr. Nobody (2009):
As suggested by: Avatar
Sooooooo I'm a horrible person and thought it was next week for the new movie.
Soooooooo here we go.
Spinning....
Week 5: Mr. Nobody. As suggested by: Avatar.
New movie: May 27th...ish....maybe... probably.
Part 3. Unedited.
I was hoping to get a chance to edit this one and the next one last week, but it just didn't happen.
Saw it last night. It lived up to every expectation I had thrown at it. And damn that feels good.
There was exactly 1 shot in the entire thing I didn't love, and that was the BLATANT pandering to the 3D audience thing with the guitar and wheel flying directly into the camera after the tanker explosion.
We saw it in 3D because that's the only way they play these movies for the first week or so out here. As usual with 3D after 5 minutes I totally forgot it was there unless they were doing something stupid. (As usual, I remain meh on the whole 3D thing, it hardly ever made me feel more in the moment, and it's a harsh trade-off for not being able to look around and absorb the image in it's entirety.)
I will absolutely be going back and watching this in 2D because I know this movie is SERIOUSLY gorgeous and I really want to be able to look at everything in frame.
Yeah I know Canons can go 30 minutes because my b-cam on a massive videography project last year was a Canon, and we had to keep cycling the recoird button every half hour.
As for the Gh3 or 4, I have no idea. I've never used em. But I'm not sure why they would lose continuous recording functionality from the GH2 unless you're in one of the higher res/framerate modes.
I can hit record on my gh2 walk away for 2 hours and when I come back its still chugging away. So not sure why yours had a 30 minute limit Tom. I know a lot of the canons have that.
A little mini-project I've been working on. A little dice rolling box for Friends in Your Dungeon so I can keep them (somewhat) contained.
It's not perfect, but it's not bad for a first attempt. Just a cheap $5 wood box from michaels, a couple coats of stain, couple coats of glossy sealer and a piece of craft felt and some spray glue for the lining. And a bit of super glue just to seal the upper edges of the felt to the box.
I'm good for monday.
Not to hijack the thread...
But mocking elements of RPG's/D&D is one thing, but it's NOT a D&D campaign that got converted into a sci-fi thing. It's it's own ruleset, own campaign, own story.
D&D is like a specific thing with like it's own ruleset and characters and world.
It's been a while since I read the early panels, but I'm fairly certain it's not set-up as a D&D campaign with sci-fi elements. I'm fairly certain it's either a custom campaign/ruleset that they're GM made up, or is a new rpg that got released... dammit, I'm gonna have to go look this up.
EDIT: I thought so, from the FAQ.
"It's deliberately vague and unspecified. There are elements of several different games in it, plus some stuff that we just plain made up. So either imagine it's some fictional commercially available system, or call it a home-brew system."
That was a lot of fun guys.
Although hearing Darths and Droids described as a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, but like Star Wars, made me cringe. Have none of you heard of RPG's before? /FriendsInYourDungeonRepO'erHere
I don't think any of us went into this /wanting/ anything. We were just "we should do a thing!" and "now we're doing a thing". If you really just aren't interested Teague that's fine. Me, SD, Boter and Herc have all taken the jump, and we're having a blast with it.
If anyone else wants to join, you're more than welcome, we'd love to have you.
If you just want to come hang out with us tomorrow to see what all it is we're up to and get a feel for things without committing to anything, that's cool too.
Love it!
Not to sound like a broken record, but I really would like a few more players, I was hoping for around ~6. Teague? Eddie? Anyone else? Fireproof, you're sure welcome, even if you can't make every session or have to join in late.
Hah, awesome dude!
*Looks over at Herc*
*coughs*
*raises eyebrows*
/BDA is currently laughing way to hard at the thought of Marvel "scaling back" or making anything less bluntly ambitious to come to the keyboard right now, please leave a message/
Don't have much to say, but I am still very much interested in a copy of those Eddie
Okay, just got this written up. Shadow, let me know if there's anything that needs to get changed story/universe/campaign wise.
Everyone else, feel free to peruse, I had a lot of fun coming up with this.
Whisper's backstory:
As much as I would love to see a Cameron directed Avengers... just to see what the ever living fuck THAT would look like. He's got 4 new Avatar movies to make.
And probably a trip to Mars or something, knowing him.
You just forgot the entry number between the week and your name.
High and Low-
As suggested by redxavier.
Discuss!
Well, since I am a horrible person and got the flu and had to deal with a bunch of stuff that popped up in the last week. I have yet to watch the Eagle. So our choices are pretty slim this week. But it's all good.
So with a flip of the switch... this week is going to be... High and Low as suggested by redxavier.
Red, (or teague) you'll need to amend your suggestion post with the right formatting so it shows up on Lamers app thingy.
So 2 weeks folks, new movie on May 13th!
HAH, I love it.
Although a few clarifications... that was THE most badass rear flip recovery from a failed wall jump you have EVERY seen. The sniper I was using was for all intents and purposes an assault rifle with sniper capabilities (C'mon man I'm not gonna take a full barrelled sniper out into the slums for a 30 yard potshot, give me some credit) slung round my back under the trench. It was hidden very well while i was bleeding to death on the ground. And I'm full blooded human baby, not a trace of elf in sight... not that that would be a bad thing or anything. But you know... I just couldn't pull off the pointy ears.
And yeah... I could really use some new shoes.
Also I went into this thinking we were already on a team, going into this together, hence the "About damn time", but your way is so much better. "Dammit random stranger on the street, I'm fraggin dying over here could you hurry the frag up and help me!!??'
The test combat thing we did. It's full of a lot of hmming and hahing and referencing the book. But if you've got two hours to kill, here it is.
LET'S LIGHT THIS BITCH UP!!
/Text because caps./
Damn dude. Nice one.
I'm gonna try to finish my back story write up tonight, and get my gear and everything filled out, I've still got like 90K Nuyen to find some way to spend though Oh the hardships.
And yep, barring anything unforseen I'll be there tomorrow.
