I am indeed. I hate the music of today
I enjoy a bit of everything, but to be fair, I think my list is *relatively* timeless.
I take it you're in the 35+ group, Jimmy
Well, duh, it's because they're only filled with the most popular songs.
My list is... probably as follows.
30 Seconds to Mars - This is war.(2009)
Seriously great album. I know it's a 2009-model, and that doesn't make me all hipster-like, but I've pretty much listened to it in one way or another every day since it was released.
Linkin Park - Reanimation(2002)
Why? It took the first album, "Hybrid Theory", and remixed it. The results was something stellar, something new, and something I'm mad they haven't done since.
Millencolin - Pennybridge Pioneers (2000)
As with Owen, this takes me back to when Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 was the coolest game in history, and we were all skating around like idiots, listening to Millencoling, watching Jackass and stupidly recreating it. Ah, the days.
Paramore - Riot!(2007)
Brand New Eyes didn't cut it for me. Riot is so awesome, I even own a live DVD of "The Final Riot". I owe a huge thanks to Guitar Hero World Tour for showing me this band.
Our Lady Peace - Gravity(2004)
Alternative, chilled-out rock from Canada. I don't know how to express it, I just really enjoy the album.
Just me having some fun with this track:

Teague's mix, with about 5 layers of vocals. No other instruments or music has been added.
Not entirely happy with my delivery on the main vocals, but I'll work it out
Well, I never expected Teague to go this awesome on it, so I'm not even sure my guitar is worthy. I'll stick to just vocals, if nobody's against it, if Teague's up for making this even more awesome?
I don't know anything about mixing, to be honest. So, I say whoever knows their stuff steps up, or I'll do a horrible master out of it.
I'll try to get some vocals on right now, but my significant other is sleeping on the sofa, and won't move.
UPDATE: Vocals, rough draft. Couldn't get much done, as she told me I was loud.
But here it is; Teague's music, my voice:

I actually like Cars. But for the story and puns, not the cars themselves. Also, it's one of Pixar's most localised films; all the puns and inside-jokes are very nascar-related, which I suppose doesn't work if you don't know who Larry the Cable guy or nascar is. I don't, so I watch it in Norwegian, in which the dubbing team did an excellent job of translating the references to match Norway.
Also: Incredibly lame trailer. Doesn't make me want to see the movie, but even after Brave, I'd still watch every Pixar film without blinking.
(the teaser for this was heaps better)
Seconded. I'd like to have a crack(pun?) at vocals on that.
Holy fucking crap, Teague!
That beat is AWESOME!
*note: we should totally use at least parts of this*
Feel free
I seriously don't get the Nic Cage hate. I like him.
Is that ...a drawing!?
Kevin Bacon needs to stay the fuck out of movies.
...Or just act alongside John Travolta.
Well, there you go.
Seems that way The BPM is 108, 4/4, if you wanna do your own metronome. Key will be whatever the hell I played it in. A Minor, Capo on 4th Fret.
Teague: You do the riff at the intro, and whenever it's necessary.
Saniss: The bridge, at least. I don't know about how it's gonna sound yet, though.
Holden: bass. It's pretty Bass-ic. badum-tsh.
Robin: is doing the drums, still.
So, how do we go about this, though? Do I just send you guys a metronome to follow, or should I include a guitar track as well? I need to warm the hell up for the vocals.
Hmm... I'd like some percussion, too. Maybe I can get a friend of mine to do it
Of course!
So, thus far, we've got:
Tomahawk: Acoustic guitar and vocals
Teague: Synth and possibly backing vocals
Saniss: Drums(possibly electric guitar, if we're doing it that style)
Holden: Bass
I think that about covers what we need.
bon homme!
Sweet. I'm still up for doing Castle of Glass, but lately, I've also leaned a lot towards a quieter version of "Farewell" by Avantasia.
Just noticed this. Stellar work, man!
Anyone?
I got some semi-pro equipment for Xmas, which I'm getting to know properly. I even recorded a quick version of Castle of Glass with it, and I've heard(no pun intended) it sounds pretty good, even considering I was ill at the time of recording it.
Back in the editing room after a week hiatus. Sorry about that, paid gigs got in the way. I'm so loving this stuff, you guys. You are all wonderful, wonderful people.
When in doubt, always trust RnB artists to make things worse.
