While I'm one of those crazies that didn't hate the prequels (so feel free to ignore the rest of this post  tongue  ), I pretty much stopped following Star Wars at all after Episode 3 came out. So I thought I was out and that I didn't really care about Star Wars any more, but seeing this news made me realise that I absolutely care. This whole thing just feels surreal and kinda terrifying. Even if lots of people hated what Star Wars had become, I always felt strangely comforted by the fact that behind it all was one man doing it his own way. So my take: I don't  think I like it, but that might just be me fearing change.

It will be interesting to see what this means for the fan films though...

EDIT: Also, I DON'T want an Episode 7!

That does not sound like a list of people actually considered for the role by anyone actually involved with the show. Not saying some of them might not have been possible at one point or another, but I'd assume most of those names come from interviewers asking random actors if they'd consider it, magazines doing '5 people we'd like to see as the Doctor' lists or something else dumb like that.

The fact that it's from imdb doesn't help...

Why exactly wasn't the Zombieland commentary released? I was in the chat that day and do remember the, uh, reaction from most of us listeners present, but it did seem like you guys at the time thought the commentary was good.

So, I'm just curious what the thinking behind not releasing it was.

I also remember a Chamber of Secrets commentary being recorded the same day as the one for the first movie. It probably suffered from being the second Potter commentary that day, but as I remember it the commentary was still solid.

Huh. So if I'd remembered to vote, Roger Rabbit would have happened.

Now I feel bad...

Very excited about the LotR commentaries!

And I'm really happy you moved it to March 10 and not the eleventh, because that would probably have been the least convenient day for me this entire year. So thanks for making me much happier than I was when I first saw this announcement a few hours ago.

In other news: I haven't listened to a commentary in months, I should probably do something about that soon...

Easily the most anticipated movie of the year for me, but it's apparently not showing up over here until next year sometime.

I guess I'll have to turn to less legal ways of watching it, which is too bad because this is one of those rare movies I actually would go the theater for.

Sorry dude but bullshit, the title sequence has been the exact same for every episode.

Huh, that's a great way to be totally wrong.

In the first episode: The title sequence ends on Pentos in the east.

Since the second episode: The camera moves to Vaes Dothrak and not to Pentos at the end.

Since the fifth episode: The camera moves over The Eyrie on its way to Winterfell.

I think those are the only canges, but I might have missd one or two...

So how many top secret surprise commentaries are you recording during this so called "hiatus"?

Didn't help that Teague, who claims to like the movie the most, decided to shut up for most of it.

My criticism of this, and some other commentaries, aren't that you spoke badly of the movie. I expect criticism and analysis of what didn't work and occasionally I even agree with you. I just prefer the commentaries where's there an actual discussion with two opposite sides. The best commentaries are the ones where there is some level of disagreement on the merits of a movie.

It should be said though, that I generally don't like listening to people rip something apart, even if I didn't like it myself. I'd rather listen to someone tell me why something works than why something doesn't, but that's obviously a very subjective thing and different people look for different things in their DIF.

Also, I didn't like the new guy. Nothing against him as a person; I just didn't think he brought anything substantial to the table beyond the aforementioned nitpicking. I'm sure that's something that would improve if he does more commentaries and find that particular DIF-rythm, but there are so many other panelists which I think consistently bring the goods alredy.

Just my take on things, no hard feelings I hope.

Well, it's after the latest anniversary show, but I'm just curious if it's before or after you did Frighteners/Strange Days.

Only reason I'm asking is that I've sort of become hung up on figuring out the actual order you recorded the various episodes in. I like the idea of listening to every episode in order. It's obviously been a lot easier to figure out after you started doing the liveshows.

So, when was this recorded?

It'll be great!

Lucasfilm rep Lynne Hale says:

“He was not serious when he talked about the end of the world in 2012 but he is an adamant believer that the world is flat, that Stonehenge was built by aliens, and that the sun revolves around the Earth,” Hale said. “These are among the many subjects he commonly discusses at length with Elvis, who he’s going to digitally insert into Indy 5 along with a roster of famous dead actors.”

According to this

So I know nothing.

I fell asleep an hour before the live show started and didn't get there until halfway through Hellboy.

Just watched/listened to the Jedi commentary though, and it was really good. Now I'm horribly depressed that I wasn't in the chat for it.

I'll be honest; I don't quite get why it's as 'popular' as it is.

I've only watched bits and pieces of it, so I'm gonna have to sit down and watch all of it at some point, but I don't think it's that funny. I'd probably like it more if it was all insight and no 'funny voice'.

That's just me though.

(me not hating the prequels is probably also part of it, but let's not get into that)

If my non-existent sources are correct, it's either gonna be The Sixth Sense or Iron Man.

That was an nice mix of fascinating and funny.

Christmas with the Dotys looks like it's a good time.

Teague was too busy trying to make a running joke out of mentioning my name as often as possible, so he can't be expected to actually have retained any of the information that was said during the commentary.

I watched this a couple of weeks ago and loved it.

Being a huge Disney fan I might have gotten a little bit emotional during certain points, but I will not admit to there being tears.

Certainly a great documentary.

I'm not Vidina and I'm not from Lofoten, but I'm gonna comment anyway.

When I first saw that episode (Død Kalm) I was pretty excited by Mulder and Scully coming to Norway.

Then they met a guy with the last name 'Trondheim', which doesn't really work as a Norwegian last name. The supposedly Norwegian language spoken in the episode is all wrong as well, but the last name thing somehow bothered me more.

Thinking back on it, I'm actually pretty sure all the other last names in that episode were more Swedish than Norwegian.

Yes, There IS a difference! And it matters!

I would love an epic LotR marathon and would totally be there for the entire live show. Imagine all those fantastic digressions you would get lost in.

Please do it.

Every time I listen to this one, I'm shocked that you can talk for over two hours and repeatedly mention Denise Richards without even once mentioning Wild Things.

Might just be me, but that movie comes to mind much quicker than Charlie Sheen does when I think of Denise Richards.
