I don't subscribe to any web series but I'd watch the hell out of this if it became one.

Kubrick is boring. For years I tried to convince myself that I liked Kubrick. Mostly because everyone else seems to. I can't keep the charade up anymore. He bores me. His photography is amazing, there are some fascinating shots, he created tone and mood like few others, and pairing him with Jack Nicholson was AMAZING but... meh. Paths of Glory is the only one I love. I like Strangelove a lot. And Full Metal Jacket is like seeing a Children International petitioner on the corner. I want to yell "you're doing great work" from across the street - but stay the hell away.
Intellectually, I understand what he's doing most of the time (I think). And I don't care. It's not valuable to me. But I bet he was an entertaining dinner guest.
That's what I get for only checking this thread once every 6 months. It's on me. Sorry, man.
Some entire cast members might be lost in the attempt, come to think of it.
Some lost? You don't say.

Mike's cookie/security bit from Unforgiven might be my favorite show moment post-A Few Good Men.
I assume there isn't a Dunkin Donuts near you, Eddie. So I'll be bringing the best coffee in all the land.
Christ. You're right. *hangs head* I have a fever of 101. I blame that.

Oh, I've got a controversial opinion that I've just recently been reminded of: Richard Harris' portrayal of Dumbledore was not any better than Gambon's. He was clearly disinterested and phoning it in.
Copy and pasted from a thread that didn't go anywhere:
I really dislike a lot of the casting in Harry Potter. Especially Michael Gambon and Richard Harris. They missed the mark on Dumbledore twice. Granted, a lot of it is the direction - some of the blocking inherently made it difficult to project cool/calm/collected. I'm remembering specifically a moment in Goblet of Fire when they have Dumbledore running around the room like a chicken with his head chopped off. That's more on the director than the actor.
But I never felt that "this is the most powerful and intelligent wizard in the world" while watching Dumbledore. Just an old dude who kinda freaks out easily.
My favorite movie poster of all time is a logo. My second favorite movie poster of all time is a logo. I'm consistent. Neither tells you a damn thing about the movie but both raise curiosity.
Both are hanging in my living room.
My favorite Hitchcock film that isn't Rope, Birds, Psycho, or Rear Window is easily The Wrong Man. It's gripping, true, and has the most unusual opening of any Hitch film.
It weirds me out how much the kid looks like Frank. In the same way that 17 year old Pitt in Benjamin Button did.
I can't see anyone else nailing The Narrator in Fight Club. Try to imagine, like, Matt Damon or Leo... My brain doesn't allow it.
And, of course, Bill Murray in Ghostbusters.
George Lazenby as James Bond. Nothing else even comes close.
I don't think he was nearly as bad as Moore. Moore always seemed to be on the edge of breaking into a Laugh-In bikini dance.
While this isn't close to being the worst actor/character matchup, I really dislike a lot of the casting in Harry Potter. Especially Michael Gambon and Richard Harris. They missed the mark on Dumbledore twice. Granted, a lot of it is the direction given to the actors - some of his stage direction inherently made it difficult to project cool/calm/collected.
And, of course, Ben Affleck as Batman is certainly the worst sounding match-up in recent memory. I swear. I say that and it still sounds like a joke.
1) Ghostbusters 3 so Dorkman and I can move on with our lives.
2) I like Zarban's 60s Bond idea. A lot. A whole lot.
3) Space Jam 2.
I'm another vote for trailers.

Yeah, this line is great. I mean, the entire post was excellent but I love this line
Diet Coke is still fizzing out of my nose. Bravo.
1) Fight Club - FC was the one that made me think movies could be more than "movies." It was about social mores and philosophy. Though, as an adult, I find it very sophomoric. At least relative to the weight I gave it back then. Still. Special place in my heart.
2) Terminator 2 - Best action film ever made.
3) Jurassic Park - Movies can do that?
That was my trinity through my teens.
Space Jam wasn't in my childhood rotation (it was released when I was 12). It is, however, in my adult rotation.
What would have been my contribution to The (evidently doomed) Road Trip:
My theory is that Cloverfield would have been better received if it was about something and didn't suck and if the characters weren't all completely hatable.*
*Spellchecker wanted to changed that to "eatable" but I'm stickin' with "hatable".
Basically. I was rooting for the monster.
Ghostbusters, Batman, and Care Bears 2.
Not totally germane, but on the topic of jamming cell phones imagine this scenario: you're a theater and you jam the cell phones - lots of people have weather apps and whatnot - and there is a terrible storm just south of the theater and the national weather service issues a warning. Nobody received these mobile warnings because you jammed them AND you didn't make an announcement over a loudspeaker.
The theater is probably liable for a negligent tort for any weather related accident that a patron suffers. And a big payout.
That kind of scenario is a good reason to not bother jamming. Why even open yourself up to it?
All this time I was blaming the skyscrapers for my lack of signal in Trader Joe's. Bastards.
