I don't know if I ever had a chance to mention this anecdote on the show or not, but a couple years ago I became the Kevin Bacon number singularity — I have a Bacon number of 0. Not 1, 0.
The short version is that I was working on a VFX sequence in his TV show where he should have had a reflection, but didn't, so to get that reverse-pose shape I took a picture of myself and slotted that in. In the shot — and remember, this is on-screen, this is classic championship rules here — you see Kevin Bacon and his reflection, but I am playing his reflection. I am Kevin Bacon. I am zero degrees of separation away from Kevin Bacon.
I'm a firm believer in everyone carrying a nice Victorinox on their keyring. Good man.
It's so purple.
...but in a happy way.
Tom is becoming Groot.
Love 'em. I'll bet they're both gonna look rad.
Links are not workin.'
Love 'em.
In both cases, maybe put a white stroke around the player number. (And then possibly adjust their position to suit, as the stroke will add a bit of weight.) You might also want to consider spreading out the features on the fronts of the shirts vertically, as they seem a little crammed together at the moment.
I dig it. I really dig that synth sound in the moment where it does its little repeat-percussive thing.
How'd you make this, anyway?
I'm confused. The point of this is just that they wanted to practice filming a fight scene, so they copied another fight scene, right? That makes sense to me as an exercise, but I don't get why this video would be cool in lieu of just posting the original fight.
So, yesterday was the one-year anniversary, and I was hoping to have the movie released by then. Not quiiiiiiite there, although most of the work that remains is touching base with Drew and putting pre-made FX over new plates and stuff like that. He's on vacation at the moment, we'll do that when he's back in front of a computer.
In the meantime, here's a teaser showing off some of the newly-completed work. (In other words, I just put a lot of the new shots to music because I was bored.)
Here's the same file as a downloadable thing, if anyone wants it.
I saw BMG live once, in Florida.
Everyone should do that if they have the chance.
Hm. It hasn't come up before.
Let's say no.
Rad! Welcome.
Thanks for posting the short, too. I have various here-and-there criticisms, naturally, but it's nothing major, and I'm sure it's all stuff you've thought of by this point anyway. My response is more just to be impressed by the effort you made, this is a hell of a lot more ambitious than my first short was. (It was a wacky comedy about me trying, and failing, to take a shit. It was called "WipeOut." Internal recapitalization presented without comment.)
Anyway. How was it makin' your movie? What were the trials and tribulations and all that? What inspired you to make it in the first place?
FYMS.
Awesome!
Could you give me a cropped version of each? Basically, the image above, cropped like it is, but presented separately instead of as one overlaid image?
My first thought is that you're right and it has to do with lens distortion, but once I run a couple tests on it I'll have a better sense of things.
I'm still pooping from last time.
Could you elaborate on the process? I mean, I could also just Google it, but I'd rather bother you.
Very slick. The gray text in the banner seems a bit difficult to read with a few of the bg image options, but aside from that, total thumbs up.
