Hooray for Pavlich!
Also, just between us, Mr. Boddy had it coming....
Regional differences frequently astound me, as does the late Mr. Black's renaming.
I trust you discreetly disposed of the bloodied spanner from the Billiard Room.
Joss is wunderkind.
I wonder where Odin was while his kids lay waste to America? Honestly, patents these days. Never would have happened if they'd had a damn good clip around the ear instead of being sent to the naughty step.
Kittens. Hulk pet.
The discussion is about the poster, and gender roles in general, not the character. She's presenting.
It's important not to lose sight of the fact that, generally, all of us like feeling a bit sexy.
What's relevant is what we in an affluent Western society believe is sexy in men and women. Historically these have been very different standards, because the genders have played very different roles. We're beginning to see the start of the break down of those archetypes, and Jim Cameron / Ridley Scott with their strong female leads are partially to thank.
As Dorkman pointed out, ideal and sexual are different things. Ideals are never going to be something which doesn't exist, but a healthy, competent one is better than passive and weak. Sadly, donuts aren't your friend in any scenario.
How awful it must be for us men to be broadly generalized in the culture as strong and powerful. That is exactly the same as women being broadly generalized as sexual objects for the gratification of aforementioned strong and powerful men.
Over time the idea of what is sexual shifts, and parts of society are moving towards equality faster than others.
The idea that a woman's sexuality is tied to her vulnerability is deeply entrenched, and has been re-enforced for thousands of years. There's no overnight fix to that, no magic button to push that's going to make fathers and mothers raise their children differently. This is a change that will take generations, and as the people who are shaping our culture and identity, the people who create the media need to take responsibility for beginning the process.
... Would sir care for a ... breath ... mint?
Can anyone looking at the guys-posing-as-girls poster get the mental image of the Hulk as the goatse guy out of their head?
Neither can I. Not happy.
These play throughs are pretty valuable from a design point of view. Picked up a lot I could do differently next time.
I'd add the Mac Mini to this list. No real use for it whatsoever with an apple tv, PC workstation, laptops, iPads ... but I want's it.
Celebrating glorious, useless things we desperately want.
Thors story directly leads into the Avengers film. Without seeing it you won't know whom or why.

Yes.

I installed this game last night via Steam, have yet to play it.
Might be a good time to bring up the career of one Ridley Scott.
Which could lead to a commentary on Blade Runner (I thought it had been done already, but couldn't find it in the search on my iPhone.
I hear it's where onions come from.
Zarban, I'm sure you could be more productive.
<ProTip> We're on an internet forum. There's something wrong with all of us. </ProTip>
Kyle why don't you put it up and Teague can look if it can be worked in? To be honest most of us* are looking at ourselves on camera and shuddering.
So France has a new top dog, Francois Hollande.
From what I understand he's looking to rework France's budget to increase socialist spend, and move away from the austerity focus that's been de rigueur la mode since Greece exploded. Assuming this weighs on the outlook for the entire Eurozone, the flow on effect could be more countries relax their austerity measures, most significantly Greece.
If this happens and there are defaults, will we see VFX jobs flow more quickly from US industry into Europe? The Greenback is already stronger on the news, the Euro may have a way to fall. I assume your interpretation of this possibility depends on which side of the pond you sit.
I see no possible drawbacks.
