Whoa. That really worked. Does it stand up to being run through the wash and all that?

Very nice, dude.

Also, I kind of want a ten-minute loop of that first shot, cropped into a digital picture frame. Then I'd have my own fishies. Flat frame fishies.

Or, you could shoot an hour, and I'd double up six ten minuteses on top of each other, for six times as many fishies.

I have never felt more like I was watching someone's last-minute punch-up — ever, in any Pixar film — than when watching the "ha, guess how it works in their head!" scenes in Inside Out.

Not just mom and dad, but also the cats and the dogs and all of it.

That said, the fact that there was a cat walking across the keyboard in the cats head is the exact kind of dada shit that Pixar will occasionally pull that makes me swoon into traffic.

I'm pumped. Let's fill this forum with fresh blood and excited goo.

I'd recommend posting a Here's How This Works thread, filling it with clear language about rules and intentions, and then stickying it. Furthermore, if the Movie Club / Lamer has any webpage-hosty needs, just lemme know and we can install a permanent patio on this motherfucking house.

Also, you should nominate an extra mod or two, so the board can strike fear into the hearts of the unclean even while you're busy with stuff. Lemme know who gets the special powers.

Just so it's clear, you can totally accept bribes and shit over the course of your decision process.

Also, just noticed this:

Read both John Dies at the End and This Book Is Full of Spiders back to back recently, and they're easily the most fun I've had with literature all year. For some reason (maybe the hurricane of bad puns and non sequiturs he spews forth) I pictured John as Teague.

I am fucking touched.

Hunter S. Thompson, "Gonzo Papers vol. I." Just a big-ass collection of his essays.

Thompson's writing — same as David Foster Wallace, and Joss Whedon, and Deadwood, and others — has the tendency to alter my inner monologue for a while. Drop a toothbrush, exclaim "thunderous fuck!" in surprise, etc..

I am currently separated from the project files by a password I do not know.

Arrangements are underway for someone to come and enter that password.

Please do post it. Camera rigs have (naturally) been one of my considerations.

2. I'm currently working on a DIY 3-axis motorized camera slider (pan, tilt, slide) for motion time lapse projects. It'll be run with a Raspberry Pi and controlled with a custom iOS app via Bluetooth LE. It's a pretty hefty project for me, involving math, computer science, mechanics, and electronics. Needless to say, I'm learning a ton! I'll probably make a post about it in the 'Creations' section when I'm closer to being finished.

Hah,awesome! I actually suggested this to Teague as a Pi project, I'd be really interested in seeing a work in progress and how you're doing it!

I've been digging into Arduino lately. You might be interested to learn of this component.

(There's also this.)

What is getting the lion's share of your enthusiasm lately? Could be an idea, or something you're learning, or an item of philosophy, or something you're working on, or whatever. Could be something that's two days old, or two minutes old, or life-long.

One caveat to this — post as many things as you want, as many times as you want, but none of them can be an item of pop culture.

Here's a weird one: John wandered into my dream last night. He was coming to visit for a week or something, and we went white-water rafting.

So, yeah, you're in my thoughts.  smile

I agree with Lamer that Shadow and Bullet and I are not the target audience for this.
