Invid wrote:A question I came away from the movie with was, what's more moral, training kids to have a fighting chance in the games, or letting random weak ones get picked in the lottery? Districts 1 and 2 had the right idea.
The outlying districts didn't have the resources that 1 and 2 had, which is why those kids were so well-trained. And because those kids almost always won, those districts continued to have access to superior resources.
It looks really, really cool. My only complaint is that the title is hard to read against the yellow backdrop. Other than that, very well done.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Pavlich.
I hope you're doing alright.

Love ya, Zarbs.
The Reddit admins went way overboard with their joke. The site is unaccessible half the time today. That said, some of the smaller subreddits are doing some funny stuff on their own. /r/AskScience is pretending to do "Sponsored Content," /r/Radiohead turned into /r/Coldplay, that sort of thing.
Invid wrote:The history we're told says 13 districts rebelled. 12 send tributes. I assume nobody in District 13 survived the war?
That's part of the history, yeah. District 13 was wiped out (or so we think) as a message to the other districts.
I liked The Hunger Games. I thought it succeeded in being "about" something without dedicating lengthy, talky scenes to various deep thematic truths. The fact that you're able to have a discussion about the film's relationship with, for example, reality television, means it pretty much did its job.
By the way, it starts streaming on Netflix tomorrow for people who haven't seen it yet.
This seems like the sort of thing he'd do to end the comic. Then again, that's what I thought about his Click and Drag thing and he kept going after that.
How do we feel about the new opening? It's kinda old-school, which is cool. Still, it'll take some getting used to.
Also, did anyone else notice the name on that book?
Ding ding ding! fcw wins!
1) Is it a living thing? It is not a living thing.
2) Was it manufactured after the year 2000? Nope. It's been around for quite a while longer.
3) Does it have a handle? No, it does not have a handle.
4) Is it meant for everyday use? I certainly hope not. It's typically used in emergency situations.
5) Is it a medical device? No.
6) Is it synthetic? Well, yeah, I guess. It's made of plastic and rubber.
7) Is it bigger than a bread box? Depends on the size of the bread box. It's probably around the same size.
8) Is it something hipsters would look down on? Hmm. Probably not. Using them isn't "mainstream."
9) Does it assist respiration? Sure does.

Alrighty then, let's get some questions going!
I've got an object. Unless someone's already started.
I saw that a few days ago. It's interesting. Phantom Menace is the slowest to start. Some of the action beats fall around the same times.
I was thinking the same thing. The fact that you guys went for FOUR HOURS without stopping proves that there's a wealth of material to cover.
The Return of the King episode has it beat by 4 minutes. But that one had a movie dictating its length. This one...goddamn, you guys.
I'm really curious how they deal with the events of Chronicles. I mean, once you've jumped down that rabbit hole, it's kinda hard to climb out again. I have high hopes, though.
