I'm looking to take this image of Jordan, aged look and all, and paint it onto an 8 x 11 foot wall - I want to boarder the yellow with more of the greenish/blue color that the silhouette is. So that would be the base color for the entire wall. I'm gathering ideas on how I should go about this.

I'm pretty disappointed that Ebert didn't show.

I refuse to get my hopes up. Dorkman tweeted about being done with trailers and I agree. They're not a gauge of anything other than how good the trailer production house is.

That said, I'll be seeing this on opening night.

Just finished Gulp. Thumbs up. I love Mary Roach. That woman is my crutch at cocktail parties.

I enjoyed that. I'd also enjoy a longer cut. Chop-chop, my man.

Phi: Elektra, Zatanna, and Supergirl work really well. The rest look sloppy. But nice find.

Ash: lol

Right now I'm reading What If? - it's a bunch of historians BSing alternative outcomes to major moments in military history. It's what you do with friends after a few beers. Only here the friends are foremost historians.

I avoid speculative non-fiction. But eh. This one is fun.

I ordered canvas print of that last year. I want to hang it but it really makes the rest of my place look shitty by comparison.

I have no idea what you people are talking about. You sound like maffia members. "You take care-a dat thing for the guy itoldyabout?"

But it's actually making me want to watch season 3.

No Space Jam?  sad

Yeah. Thrones doesn't do anything for me either. I might watch season 3... but meh.

I started as a 35mm still photographer in high school with the idea of eventually moving to 35mm motion film. So I collected a large number of good, prime Nikon lenses over the years.

I didn't want to waste those lenses, so I bought an HVX200a with a redrock M2 lens system. I shot the homepage video and Calvin and Hobbes mostly on that. I also used my HPX170 for the jib shots.

I also own a jib - extends to 14 feet and it has the automatic head and all that fun stuff. A couple Lowell light kits, a skate dolly, had a 519 fluid head & tripod, had an NTG-3 shotgun mic, boom pole, a Nagra... those are the main toys.

I seriously love the HVX200. It's really versatile, you can pull off cool shots, and there is a HUGE database of online support for it. Since it's the standard you can find a thread that will answer virtually any question. Great starter camera.

I also recommend the iPad 4. I like it. I've had three versions and it's my favorite. I also have an all-Apple ecosystem. So that might make a difference. For me the biggest question is always whether or not I need the 3G version.

If you have an iPhone, probably no *need* for 3G. But if you don't have a smart phone I highly, highly recommend the 3G version. If you ever need it it'll save your life. Especially if you get lost easily like me. Or want to watch Netflix at the airport.

If it stays at home, skip 3G. If not, seriously consider it.

Know what really pisses me off? I bet the legal entity that did Life of Pi was R&H: Tiwan TO BEGIN WITH. They were safe from fees and creditors that way. So bankrupt the US arm while acting like a holding company.

Management has NEVER been on the artist's side. If they were they never would have engaged in such low ball bids from jumpstreet with the intention of passing the cost down to the artists.

Why anyone would take management's side is beyond me.

Mmmhm.

It lost me after Tarr. I've heard of Mike Snow, but that's more dumb luck than familiarity with Infinity Level.

EDIT: Also, on the Iron Man 3 poster, is it me or is the scale wonky?

Wow. Any of those could work. It's a matter of taste, theme, and goal now.

If you can get more of a defined line with either version of DAP you'd have a real winner. Try a more contrasty photo?
