As I continue to watch: "I would be awful at this, I shouldn't play."

But I'm more or less keeping neck-and-neck with Teague so uh, YEAH I definitely want to hop onto the next one big_smile

EDIT: OH COME ON THAT POD RACER ONE WAS MEANT FOR ME

Okay good Teague is doing me proud. (I paused and wrote down answers, got eight - Elan Mak, Mars Guo, Aldar Beedo, and Teemto Pagsomethingorother as ones he didn't get.)

*cries and reinstalls Star Wars Racer

Alright, folks, who wants a chase scene, some walkie-talkie voice, and speech synthesis standing in for a monitor display?

I love it.

...I should really troubleshoot my Rift, been a bit since I had it working. Don't know if my computer could handle Alyx, though.

See you say that embeds aren't working, but by your grace, it's been fixed.

And I'm gonna grant that as the best version of that I've heard; and when management gets picky about music played at the bookstore, believe me that I've heard my fair share of versions.

Yeah I've always been a fan of musical whiplash tongue

"Only a Dream" is from Mary Chapin Carpenter's second album, "Come on, Come On". The album was a favorite of my dad's growing up, and he cited it as one of the few albums he'd listened to that was great start to finish, no weak spots; most other albums, from anyone, had weak spots here and there, or were really only worth it for a couple of hits.

The verse at the end, with the line, "...And all that I saw / Was a bed and a desk and couple of tacks / No sign of someone who expects to be back" was going through my head a couple years ago when I left the wedding videography job, as I was clearing my desk. Someone who'd come on for a season and was going to be leaving at the same time was also familiar with the song; I played it on my phone and she yelled, "How dare you," at the first couple notes.

Wowww! That staining process really brought out a lot of character. It looks fantastic!

Really? I can't stand hearing it. Must be one of those things. Thank you *blush*

Also bawling. Thanks thrice.

Free Radical
Chapter 2 - Search

I'm pleased that I didn't have to edit this one. A couple tiny stumbles, but man did I have a few issues with Chapter 1. I'd also pre-read Chapter 1 (like a practice dry-run); this one I haven't read in years, and I think I'll do the rest "cold" as well.

Oh wait: my latest contribution.

"I'm just gonna do this song. Maybe one more. But I don't want to mess with my neighbors right now."

I hover over the video. 2:39/21:41. Fuuun.

(After listening to Abbie's, I recorded a few. They're uploading now as I watch Teague's.)

I was a child in the late 90s. So, unfortunately, when I hear the beginning of "I Will Survive", I think of this stupid thing.

"One last song, let's wrap it up." Video isn't halfway done. "HAH. No." Next forum group project? wink

Me at the end, doing totally other things, then prompted - "WHAT?" "WHO?" "Oh."

I will be reading Free Radical by Shamus Young. This was published online in 2003, and eventually made its way to print-on-demand then Kindle. It started as a System Shock fanfic, and grew from there. Feel free to follow the above link to the Forward where he talks about the background of it; I won't be reading that, instead starting with the first proper chapter.

Oh man I think I remember you listening to Scandroid on a stream of yours I was watching! ON IT

Man, if I ever actually end up not being able to go into work - either staying at home sick, or because the store closes - I will absolutely listen to these. As it is, my time is a bit full.

Not too full to record something, though. Got halfway through the first chapter of mine last night, will record the second half tonight, stitch it together, and upload it.

I get our store newsletter in my work email. Tonight I got one that stated, "We are here for you. We have lots of great books to read and toys to play with. Both stores are open, although we will likely shorten our hours soon." Emphasis mine. Hell of a way to find out about it.

I emailed my manager (newsletter was sent by the owner; two-location company, she's basically next in line down from the owner himself) to ask about it, because that's not a cool way for me to find out that my hours might be cut. I wasn't in the store today so I don't know if people were told in-person or something.

(Or, I mean, we're short-staffed as it is, maybe they'll close a day and pile up staff on other days so we're decently crewed?)

My manager responded, saying there was "no official word" yet, and "I'm sorry you read that outside of our internal communications."

Again, to reiterate - I work at a store. Working from home isn't exactly a thing, for us tongue

It's not affecting me personally, but it's absolutely impacting the store I work at. Events are starting to cancel/postpone; we haven't canceled our entire calendar yet, but there are two confirmed cases in the county, and if/when community spreading happens, it's probably just a matter of time.

It's slow as hell at work. The last three days, while not utterly devoid of customers, are markedly slower than they should be. Someone commented how easy it was to find a parking spot in town (a comment I have never heard, only the opposite).

I read that restaurants feel the pinch pretty hard. Inasmuch as I can afford to, I intend to patronize local restaurants in our area that might be feeling the same sort of slowdown. Doing my capitalist duty, or something, I don't know.

If I get sick, I get sick, and I self-quarantine. Take advantage of curbside grocery shopping. Catch up on my YouTube editing queue and my to-read shelf. I'm not worried; again, not for myself at least. But for businesses, it's gonna hurt.

Saaame.

(I've actually been starting to get into synthwave in general, which is both cool and frustrating because there's not enough of it on Pandora or the like for good variety so discovery is a bit hard.)

Highlighted Finna as well as two others at an event we had at work - semi-informal discussion with customers, I and two others each with a few minutes to present a few books.

I have a bootleg DVD floating around somewhere. (Assuming bootleg, if WordArt on the cover is anything to go by.)

Hot damn. Don't mind me as I get Drunken Master pronto. (Part of its enjoyment for me has always been the awful, awful dub - it's how I first saw it with some stoner friends - but that being included as well makes me perversely happy.)

That is *gorgeous*. I attended a book-binding workshop at a convention one time and it was fun, always wanted to get into it more - but you went ahead and did it! Coptic stitch is so cool looking, as well. Great job!
