Also, among all our cracking up during filming, the one thing that kept coming up was...

"...god damn, puppets are hard. We wish Trey were here."

Making puppets, puppeteering puppets... it's a nightmare. Mike did a fantastic job making my hunk of styrofoam look like a bad-ass.

(And, of course, Alex did a fantastic job playing a bad-ass. And also composing that score, my god.)

So, yeah. We did a thing. Trey knew this was coming just as much as you did, and exactly what he'll think of all this has been a subject of great interest among our cohort. We all very much hope he doesn't hate us now.

This was pretty much Holden's idea. I made the puppet, Dorkman puppeteered, Anthony Alba did the narration as well as Tokes' arms for a few shots. Alex Ruger from Uncomposed played Stokes. Paulou shot it. Cloe, Dorkman, and I wrote it - with some help from iJim. Zarban executive produced. (In the traditional definition.) Alex did the original god damned score. That's not library music, people, that's the dude from Uncomposed farting out a pitch-perfect theme song for us. Eric Webb produced. And pretty much all of those names could be attributed "assistant director," too. I did a lot of VFX.

Anyway, this coming weekend there'll be a whole Intermission about this, but I might get ornery and leak it before then. If I do, no complainin' about not getting a second release next weekend.  big_smile

Thanks man. Just re-read mine and Eddie's posts, and... yeah. I dig this thread. (And "these" threads. Someone make one for something you know a lot about.)

That leak?

We're gettin' real close.

This was filmed today.

Paulou brought it up in another thread - why are all your posts indented like they are? You know you can keep typing off past the right-margin of the post form and it'll just automatically go to the next line, right? You don't have to manually carriage-return your paragraphs.

In case it's not clear what I'm talking about, look at my words right here. See how both of the paragraphs in this post — and all the other posts in the thread — are "wider" than yours on the page? That.

Reddit codified an interview format called "AMA," or Ask Me Anything, whereby a million people ask questions and the ones with the most upvotes get answered. Sometimes these are with celebrities (so, "I am Tom Hanks, AMA!") and sometimes they're with various specialists. In the latter case, it's standard to add a second "sounds-like-A-M-A-but-isn't-actually-related" term, IAmA, which is just a smooshing-together of the words "I Am A." (So, "IAmA Professional Escort, AMA!")

Really, the title of this thread should use "AMA" instead of "IAmA;" because all IAmAs are AMAs, but not all AMAs are IAmAs.

*falls into an IAMAMMAAMAAAAAMMAMAMMMIAMAIMA trance*

For what it's worth, I've always thought having two different concepts linked by such similar-seeming terms was ungainly, but it is what it is.

Have you heard us talk much about magic beans and "Wonderlands" in other commentaries?

There will be so much more Meghan.

There will be at least one more Meghan.

Congratulations!

Haven't thought about it too much, but on first-read that seems like an ending a lot of fans would have liked more. Nice job.

Children of Men is great, and a good episode of the podcast as well.

And it sounds like Food Fight might make for an even better episode.

Well, one thing someone floated that I kinda liked was — Cohle's whole thing was predicated on a spiral that started after his kid died, and he described how she went as a level of unconsciousness followed by a deeper level of unconsciousness. That's the same thing he said about his coma, and he said it was really nice. That original obsession with the sinking-into-nothingness and relating pessimism/depression [i.e., his character when we meet him] could easily be offset by experiencing it yourself and enjoying it.
