Apparently this film shall be known as Marvel Avengers Assemble in the UK so people don't confuse it with The Avengers tv series from the 60s and the crappy film version of said tv show with the same name. Bollocks.
Here's the exact same trailer but with the new UK title. Bollocks.
And here we witness the douchebag in it's natural habitat.
Charlie Brooker is a satirist. He is a self-confessed geek with a grumpy old man demeanour. I have no doubt he wrote the piece in a jokey manner, just look at his number 2 entry. It's 'British Humour' innit?
which in turn was based on a book, which in itself was written as a sequel to THE DETECTIVE.
Also. I'm not 100% sure I buy that story (that it started out as a commando sequel). I don't think the dates work... Unless there were two scripts going at the same time based on the same book as rival projects... And die hard beat it?
According to wiki-
'A sequel was written by De Souza and Frank Darabont, based on the 1979 book Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp (which is, itself, a sequel to his 1966 novel The Detective, made into a film of the same name in 1968 featuring Frank Sinatra and Lee Remick), but Schwarzenegger was not interested in making a sequel as his previous sequel (Conan the Destroyer) was less successful critically and did not do as well domestically at the box office. The script was reworked with a new central character, eventually played by Bruce Willis, and was retitled Die Hard. The fictitious country of Val Verde is later nodded to in the sequel to Die Hard.'
That is the story I've always known. And Steven E. de Souza wrote both Commando and Die Hard, so I don't see how it's bollocks. Although, you never know
I watched The Muppets for the first time yesterday and I didn't realise there were so many effects shots in until I read this thread today. You are now one of my heroes, Mr. Brower
This past weekend I watched Lethal Weapon three times trying to record a fucking commentary for it and Tango & Cash again, for the second time this week, recording one for it. I may be losing my mind a little. I just imagined killing my friend and pissing on his ashes......
I'm going to record T&C again for sure, I fucked that up. I'm going to listen to Commando to see how I sound, I have no clue how to fix sound in Audacity. Once I'm done, I'll be honoured if you gave them a listen to see what you think.
I have recorded two commentaries on Audacity (one for Tango & Cash and the other for Commando) but the sound isn't too great and I have no clue what to do. Saying that, I don't think the T&C one is all that great anyway but I did enjoy doing the Commando one. I was halfway through doing one for Lethal Weapon but got interrupted by the phone twice so had to abort, which is annoying.
I really like Event Horizon, it's very underrated, I feel. It's Anderson's best work by a long shot. And Fishburne is badass. Obviously, it's Fishburne. I remember seeing Event Horizon at the cinema and it was quite a scary experience on the big screen. Surround sound works wonders for that flick.
They mention The Three Musketeers in that clip above and, boy, that's a pile of shite.
I think, by far, Kevin Conroy is the greatest Batman of all time.
This, this, a million times this. Although if we are talking only live action then Clooney was ok, he was just stuck with a shite script with crappy puns. He deserved better but Keaton was my Batman growing up.

Mask Of The Phantasm is the best pre-Nolan Batman film. You can't prove me wrong.
And I don't want to. Can't prove something wrong that is 100% right Dorkman, you really should watch it, especially if you're a fan of the animated series. Speaking of which, I have some episodes on dvd and that show really holds up. It's awesome.
This is for Brian and other Star Trek fans. This is Irish comedian Ed Byrne from his 2011 tour Crowd Pleaser. The nice thing about Byrne is that he is a nerd and a Star Trek fan. One that can't pronounce Uhura, mind you, but still.....
But there are many reasons why a DiF commentary wouldn't work for Ark - primarily, it's US-only so not all our listeners could see it.
And as a fan of both Sci-Fi and Trey, this is very annoying. I want to see it and I refuse to do so illegally. I just have to have patience, I just hope I don't think it's shite after waiting so long to see it*
