I'm surprised they had the restraint to not go for the full cheap shot and use "The".
Discovered a pretty neat little renderer for minecraft worlds called Chunky. Messed around with it for a bit with my Cathedral build on the KrankyKraft Server.
Turned out pretty pretty.
As per assignment. Le Tardis.
Hot damn, I want that thing 5 foot wide mounted on my wall. That is gorgeous.

I'm pretty sure that the author of this poster did not.
10! 9! 8!...Why are we counting down?...7! 6! 5!...I don't really know.... 4! 3! 2! ... What do you mean you don't really know? ...1! Start. *Crickets*
Well all right then.
I totally wanna see the movie based off this poster:http://www.filmweb.pl/Gwiezdne.Wojny/posters#poster-7376767-fullscreen
I'm picturing something like Pulp Fiction meets the early 00's era teen animation (Digimon, Beyblades, pokemon, yu-gi-oh etc, Yes this the generation I grew up in, why do you ask? )

Heh...that was meant to be read more lighthearted and self depricating than it came out.
Well then I'll just shut the fuck up then shall I?
Greeeat.
Alright, so I skipped ahead and watched the boolean one and I have a couple questions.
My brain still works in the "Everything needs to be quads or tris or else shit goes bad fast" mode. Does that theory not apply in lightwave, or (Taking the first example you did, with the cyl through the cube) would I still have to go through and manually connect the points from the intersected cylinder out to the outer cube, and deal with all the fun geo things that brings up, or you know, gods forbid just go convert all to tri's and hope for the best.
That's kinda the problem I've always had when it comes to booleans. It's simple to set it up and so long as you don't have to actually do anything with the geo it's fine, but it's the clean up process to make it usable that becomes a bitch and a half.
Just in case, I should say, I'm thinking like 6 steps down the line here, like when it comes to pulling out the UV's, rigging, and actually texturing and rendering the thing.
/It feels weird talking about this in a thread called Lightwave For Beginners
Oh shit... I clciked play on that thinking it was gonna be a little short minute or 2 cutesy thing. But then it kept playing, and I was like wtf, I look over, and it's the whole gorramm thing.
So I know what I'm watching while I work later tonight.
Weird thing is too, I was at work and I was thinking to myself that I really needed to sit down and watch toy story again tonight.
*Twilight zone music starts playing*
Creepy.
The fact that you made that without the boolean tool is rather impressive, though. Really good work.
Impressive because it's point modelled or impressive because it's on 3 days of lightwave learnin?
If it's the former, I'm not sure why, I've always been a point modeller. Granted, the fact it took 5 hours in lightwave when it would take me 5 minutes in blender can pretty much be chalked up to the fact I was attempting to figure out and find and learn the equivalents of all my favorite tools (Still missing a couple, but I got most of em)
Hopefully I'll have some time in the next couple days to get back into lightwave and watch the rest of he tuts. I've just been so freaking busy the last couple days, I haven't even had time to stop and think for 30 seconds, let alone this.
And yeah, booleans is gonna be my next thing to attempt. Although I've never really used them much in any package, (because they just ruin any geo they touch and it takes 5 hours to clean it up after), so it'll be interesting to see if lightwave's actually works.
I figure since I'm the one that started this whole lightwave thing around here I should probably post something.
So here's what I've been building for the last 3 days. It doesn't look like much, but I've built that one corner piece about 6 times, all of them using different routes and tools... it's just my learning process, anyways, moving on.
I can definitely feel myself getting faster and more used to the way lightwave works. So progress is good! Progress is wise!
Ah...so did they finish all the changes they were talking about a while back or were they just leaving it alone?
/Hasn't really been paying attention to Star Tours news
I had this thought and asked in the chat but no one answered.
Has there been any word on what's gonna happen with Star Tours now that Disney can do whatever the hell they want with the franchise?
I can't help but think they're all going "Wtf is that thing between it's...oh god?! Seriously dudes? Somebody get the fuckin prop dept over here. Wtf guys?!"
Now seriously Ash!? I'm trying to have a frickin life o'er here! C'me on!
Sigh...I'll be back in a couple days.
I finished An Abundance of Katherines today. And yeah, pretty much agree with what we said before. It's a perfectly good and enjoyable book, but it lacks the punch and effect that Alaska had.
Next up will be the copy of The Casual Vacancy that my parents got me for Christmas. Been looking forward to this one!
Chad kinda screwed that take up. I wonder why they used it.
I'll admit it, it's been a longass time since I watched that epsiode and had to go research to figure out wth you were talking about. but in the process of doing so I found this article: http://nonstopkarate.com/2011/05/27/plo … nd-scrubs/
Which makes it all worthwhile.
The hope of goth britta being really real can live on.
