Avatar, you crazy!
I'm also fucking stunning looking. That could be it too.
Because.....because.....he does it twice in the fil- oh never mind......
Never! But replace never with 'Almost certainly!'
Great, the other Brits have chimed in, typical, always following me around
I feel oddly validated by this thread..... *sighs happily*
To address Jimmy's main problems with it:
Pegg's character did not annoy me negatively. It did, of course, as he's supposed to, but otherwise I loved him.
I just couldn't and I don't know why. I never sympathised with him, which you are supposed to towards the end but I was just left cold by the character. Maybe I'm just a heartless git but I don't feel the sad story bat was justified. He was just a dick and he ends the film as a dick, I do't care that he was suicidal.
The ending felt a bit odd to me too. It all makes perfect sense thematically, but it might be a bit too much. I don't think the movie needed to go that far to wrap up its message (which got a bit blurred to me at first, because the pre-ending seems to tell the opposite message). I think Wright wanted to go a bit nuts with it because it's the end of the Cornetto trilogy.
Yeah, I really really don't like the ending. It is a happy for one for the majority of our main characters (the ones that lived) but it just felt a bit sour to me. Again, I have yet to re-watch the film and I have heard that some people who feel the same way as me have changed their view on a second watch. I should be getting the Blu Ray (with a ton of extras) at Christmas so I'll know after then
WTF, Reitman? Are you the same guy who directed Ghostbusters?
Yeah, but he also directed Junior, Father's Day and Six Days Seven Nights, so......
Our Buffy 'episode' is finally finished, hooray
I prefer The Muppet Show over Fraggle Rock but I do understand why others would think the opposite. I just like Fozzie Bear and Gonzo so much
Fraggle Rock aired in the UK with different versions to those that aired in the US. We had a different Lighthouse keeper (we had three in the shows run) and Uncle Traveling Matt traveled the UK.
Well, I don't care about Stargate so there will be a place open if we ever do one
Fair enough. I don't care enough about it to continue.
50 years is so long ago that it doesn't matter.
Well no, 50 years is a huge anniversary. They made a big deal out of it with all the documentaries and stuff. So, clearly it does matter to many people. Again, I don't particularly care (although, apparently I do more than the other non-Americans which is worrying ) I just thought releasing it in the same week as people were remembering and paying tribute was a bit off.
As for Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, I'm genuinely surprised that people seem to love that one. I have to wonder if it's just the fact that it stays super faithful to the book, because to me, it does not really work if you're not bringing your knowledge of the books in with you.
Nah, I really like it but have never read the book
I can only rate the films.
1. Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Deathly Hallows Part 1
3. Order of the Phoenix
4. Chamber of Secrets
5. Deathly Hallows Part 2
6. Philosopher's Stone
7. Half-Blood Prince
8. Goblet of Fire
The first two are really the only ones I'd re-watch again, though.
Can you do a commentary on Zero Dark thirty?
That's the third time in a day you've asked that. Twice in the same thread. You were replied to on the previous page, why ask again?
Yeah, it's slightly bad timing. If it wasn't this particular week, nobody would give a shite.

Come at me.
For all the stick it supposedly gets, I've never actually met anybody who doesn't like it.
*waves* Hullo
I have gone off Smith a great deal over the years but Dogma is my favourite film of his. Not too keen on Mallrats or Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Although, to be truthful, I don't really intended on re-visiting any of them again any time soon.
SPOILERAnd thank you Faldor, that's really all I needed. I had no clue who that was or why it was such a big deal.
There are other ways to go about it, though, to be fair.
Oh, disregard my post then....
What Owen said.
Isn't it great that we are a community that can say 'fuck you' to each other, even in gif form without any repercussions? It's good that we are so comfortable with each other that we just know that saying that to someone else is a joke and in no way will piss the other one of. I love these forums.
BDA, I have a question-
Oh, I'm in that one! Probably why it's so bloody long
Also, you can count me as a regular listener of EE from now on. I've been going back and listening to the older episodes (started with the RTD vs Moffat.) Good stuff so far.
See my avatar? That is my response to you, glad you're enjoying them
PorridgeGun rated Out For Justice and Crocodile Dundee higher than the Cape Fear remake.
I like PorridgeGun......
