...haven't seen it.

There's a video of some dudes being chased by a cow that's been floating around lately.

I... hijacked the sound mix. Put in a bunch of dinosaur sounds and Jurassic Park music. I think it's better now.

smile

I approve of this trend.

Bullet, that's rad. You somehow made it MORE Nine Inch Nailsy, and I didn't think that was possible. And any move towards Nine Inch Nails is a move in the right direction.

If we can get other people to record vocals for other tracks, we'll have a whole separate EP on our hands.

I'm blown out on a fairly regular basis, captain.

Here's what I came up with.

Owen, I really wish I had your voice. You give good rawk.

I stretched the audio files nearly to the breaking point on this, but I think that's just a bitrate thing from the source files. Anyway. Did a bit of tuning, brought in some fake harmonies, did what ya do. I kinda like it, myself. There's something very "80s movie montage" about this that I imagine Eddie will get a kick out of. tongue

It snows in Scotland?

Huh. Of course it does - I just never imagine Scotland getting snowy.

Come to think of it, I pretty much just imagine Scotland being a little too cold and kinda wet all the time. hmm

Shabooms. Again with video.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT OWEN

Can I have your unprocessed vocal stem? I'd love to mix this in properly and release it as a remix!

(Not that it was mixed poorly here, but I can re-arrange the levels of individual tracks to blend it together.  cool )

This was awesome.

Everyone smells like farts!

Thanks, man. Paulou, Dorkman, and Ryan played with this tool, and everyone seemed fairly happy with it. (Paul especially, and Mike used it on like ~100 shots with his own tricks on top.) The methodical "bit by bit" breakdown was what I was most proud of. Nail every little sub-effect and let the user mix them and tweak to taste.

Download the thingy.

Great post. Definitely post your short on the creations board when it's done, and I'd also be interested in some sort of a write-up (as detailed as you'd want it to be) about using film on a modern short film these days.

Awesome! Welcome to the forums, go bump old threads.  big_smile

I lived in Carmel for about five years, btw, and Holden lives in Fishers. Indiana people are better people than other people.

Wonderful post. Read the whole thing, and these sort of movies usually aren't even my bag.

10/10, would bang.

Thor one doesn't work, but the rest do, and I love the style.

Silhouette is important, y'all. (The hammer helps, though.)

oh my god

It's probably my least favorite track, honestly! Had zero time to waste tweaking it or perfecting it, just slammed it out.  tongue

I composed Visible at about three thirty yesterday afternoon. :-P It was my second-to-last major job on the show, and I think... third one yesterday.

So, Eddie Doty is an insane person who likes to make whole documentaries in five days. The doc we did is freakin' awesome, but you won't be able to see it for a few weeks. (I think. I dunno. Whatever the festival says.)

However, you can totally listen to the soundtrack I cooked up! Free download or stream, six tracks, a little less than ten minutes.

Boom!

As an aside, this was a really fun week. Lots of DIF folk piled into Eddie's office, sleeping on floors, makin' thigns happen. The team included Eddie, Harrell, Brian, Dorkman, Ryan, Miki, and myself, plus some others that I don't think the DIF community knows. Great team, great experience, proud of what we did. We shall discuss the project further when the doc goes online, at which time Eddie will be received as a god in the thread about his movie. Until then, hey, music! cool

Not to my knowledge, but about half of the editing I've done in my time is makin' demo reels, which is something you typically have to do with frames.  big_smile
