This pane had been broken since I moved in to this house last year, so I knocked it out and replaced it with plexi and exacto-cut cinefoil. It's an homage to the big staircase window at Olana, the home of Fredric Edwin Church, first son of the Hudson River School. The house was designed by Church and Calvert Vaux in this style that could best be described as "Damascus Chateau." Look it up, it's gorgeous.
