Dark Crystal? I didn't know Nolan got the rights to the Breaking Bad movie.
Skexican Cartels. <mic drop>
Wow, this ended up funnier than I remembered it at the time. I was giggling throughout listening to it.
Love how you kept the Vermeer bit at the end too, makes it a vewy vewy nice ending....
Thanks Teague for the beer'n'a'taco thing. ![]()
What BUMS ME OUT is that I brought you that stupid CD I've promised you for Aeons, it was there, with me, in the room... but did I REMEMBER TO GIVE IT TO YOU!?!?! NO.
/Z
Three minutes into the commentary, and I'm being reminded of how excited my girlfriend was when we picked up this DVD. And how neither of us have ever felt the need to actually watch it since purchasing it.
We both have watched the film, and remember loving it...but it also has that odd thing where you appreciate it, want to own it, but don't necessarily want to put yourself through that experience again...
So, I'm glad to find out that we aren't necessarily alone in that response.
And I think it would be awesome if you guys covered the Heavy Metal movie! The sequel...not so much.
...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that episode ended on an odd note... ![]()
All I have to say right now is...YES YES YES YES YES YES SIIIIIIII!!!!!! A fresh batch of puppet-based commentary, I'm stoked...MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!
My recollection of this film is being terrified, yet bored.
No joke, my Mother was THIS CLOSE to naming me and my Sister, Jen and Kira, respectively.
The puppets in this movie give me this weird uncanny valley feel, and it fucking scares me.
No other movie does this to me.
No. No you really shouldn't have.
This is the same podcast that had a 5 minute run about a piece of shit having an existential crisis. It's a beautiful thing.
I thought that particular riff was one of our better recent ones. Started spontaneously, quickly reached peak lunacy and then ended cleanly with a Cloe slamdunk. If there was an award for whatever the hell it is we do, that's the nominating clip I would submit for this year.
At the end of the day, we all have films we'll fight for and against, in the face of contrary opinion. This is one of the wonderful things about film as a medium.
I see where you're coming from, but disagree with your conclusion. Lots of wonderful parts (and some not-so) which didn't come together for me at the end.
