Got home late and stumbled across this bit of news - wtf?
The Vincent Thomas bridge is about two miles down the channel from me, I can SEE the thing from here. I took this picture six weeks ago when we were moving the boat and passed under the bridge on the way.
Jeebus, that thing is tall.
The question that comes to my mind is WTF was he even doing in this part of town? There's not much of anything here.

Very sad to hear.
Top Gun (released when I was in my late teens) still holds the record for the movie I've seen the most number of times in the cinema. And Crimson Tide was a brilliant tense taut thriller with rare intelligence from a Hollywood movie.

Sad news that he has died, but what's worse is that it appears that he took his own life. I can't fathom why he would choose that option, but then I'm not a thrice married man in my sixties with a highly stressful career. I'm so sorry for his family and his brother especially, as they've worked together many times over the years.
Top Gun, Crimson Tide, True Romance, and Man on Fire are all great films, and I always thought Spy Game was underrated too. He will be missed I'm sure.

That makes a lot more sense, altho now I'm a little disappointed that he didn't jump out of a plane wearing a bomb vest into the mouth of a great white shark.
