Could you cover window replacement for fun and profit, and Speedgrade - because we don't have DaVinici Resolve?

My cuts look terrible, tho. The originals are high res MOV files from a Canon 450. Did something go wrong? Do you want me to upload them again?

Hi Zarban, if you still have access to the FTP, feel free to upload - I'll just switch the source files.

Re: DIF Community Project: DIF Road Trip!

Just looked and found that my files amount to 10GB, which makes me think that I recoded them before uploading because they were so big. I thought they still looked pretty good, but apparently not. I deeply regret the error and hereby resign my office now to spend more time with my family.

I'm uploading some of the originals now, but it's going to take forever. If you like this and can give me the file names of the cuts you used, I could upload just those...? Perhaps...?

He indicated that it's easy to switch the source files, so I thought that his clip for a given take of a line might be labeled 003-2, and I could just upload file 003 instead of trying to figure out if the take he chose is one of the three or four in each of 003 or 004 or 005. Zarban - Could you please put up the following?

MVI_1008

MVI_1012

Teague, if you're happy with this cut I'll dump the audio out. You might need to give me the user name and password for the FTP again as it looks like the previous group login has been removed.

Audio level adjustments and pans have been removed, as has the music and titles. End sequence remains unlocked as it needs a kinetic relationship with the score, which is yet to be attached. Ping me if you need more material.

Unspoilered, as this is basically the cut. Resolution is still low as there's more work to do and the film isn't finished. Feedback appreciated as always.

Re: DIF Community Project: DIF Road Trip!

That's awesome. Works for me.

Dave, Kyle, and Saniss, I'd be much obliged if you guys could find a moment in the next couple days to "loop" your dialogue when it's really quiet in the above cut. All this means is, with whatever you can record with, even a phone or something, say the line again into the microphone a few times, trying to match your timing in the video. If it's not perfect, I can probably still make it work.

Re: DIF Community Project: DIF Road Trip!

With Zarban's footage going in, it's time for a status update.

  • There have been some minor tweaks to the above cut, but nothing significant or performance based

  • Audio has been exported and uploaded to the FTP server. Other than the looping Teague requested above, it's apparently fine to work with

  • I'll re-export the video for Teague to make pretty-like, which will also go up on the /final directory of the FTP server

  • I'm diving head-first into AE from this end to begin masking windows. The masking bit I'm all over, the figuring-out-how-to-select-parts-of-a-massive-comp-to-pre-comp is a far more daunting challenge

Once the new footage is in, I'll upload the final premier pro file to the FTP server as well. With source footage, exports, and what have you, the project files are currently at the 38GB mark with 2600 files. I don't really know the best way to store any of this for future play, other than sticking everything on a USB stick, and posting it to Teague.

Thoughts?
