Whatever the big six end up being, the ones that AREN'T should be heavily considered doing in the not so distant DiF commentary future. I won't likely change my list but must admit that I'm real interested in hearing how Dorkman would react if Last Airbender is done. I'm a fan of series that the movie was based off from but didn't much care for the movie. Also wouldn't mind seeing how an Unforgiven commentary would be.
Oh, did we forget to mention? The twelve on the list that don't make the cut, we will NEVER EVER DO.
How's THAT for stakes, huh? HUH?
All of the movies are currently being held at gunpoint. The ones that don't make the top 6 will be killed immediately. Choose wisely.
1.) Unforgiven
2.) Close Encounters of the Third Kind
3.) Batman Returns (I was sold just on Trey-talk... but WALKEN STORY!?!? Fuhgetabouddit)
4.) Citizen Kane
5.) The Dark Knight
6.) The Wizard of Oz
Oh BTW, no, I didn't work on AIRBENDER. Although I do now work at the company that did its less-than-well-received 3D conversion.
(In their defense, it was their first conversion, a last minute rush job, and if I could tell you the process they were using then -- totally different from the current one -- the result would make sense. They got better -- they're currently doing TITANIC among other projects.)
(I'm not on the TITANIC team.)
(Vote AIRBENDER)
(Vote Quimby)
1. The Last Airbender
2. Transformers 3
3. Dark Knight
4. Lethal Weapon
5. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
6. KickAss

Funny story:
In the theater for Hugo this evening, there was a couple behind me who were very chatty. I had a little game when the Titanic trailer came on for how long it would take the girl to figure out what it was, and then her reaction. It took her a little long—you can ask my date at Tintin, I knew it was Titanic on the rating screen—but her shocked gasp was worth it. And then at the end she was frantically asking the guy how they made it 3D, and he couldn't do anything but repeat 'I don't know, I just don't know.'
1. Dark Knight
2. Last Airbender
3. Super 8

2. Airbender

4. Airbender
5. Airbender
6. Airbender

EDIT
...because I know Dorkman wants to cover that one sooo much. I give not a rodent's patootie about it myself, but I'm sure curious to find out what the big deal is...
I want to kill Shyamalan because of this movie

I return from the ether for a moment to cast my vote.
1.Unforgiven (I havn't seen it yet, but a western definitly needs to be done... so there it is.)
2.The Dark Knight
3.The Last Airbender (Even with Rifftrax I barely made it through this one, and thats the only time I've seen it... but I'm willing to sit through it again because I want to know what the hell this thing was supposed to be)
4.Who framed roger rabbit?
5.My Favorite Martian
6.Batman Returns
And if it's at all possible to give negative points to one of these, please give all of them to Transformers 3.
I knew it was Titanic on the rating screen
I had a similar experience. I was like "PG-13? Nudity? Must be Titanic."
My six:
1) The Dark Knight (I kinda would like to see a DIF Batman franchise series a la Terminator/Alien/Indy but this would be great. You could always do the Batman movies in reverse order, might be interesting.)
2) The Last Airbender (This was such a disaster. No movie has ever made me this sad. I made all my friends see this at a midnight release and I'm still apologising for it. Easily the worst movie I've ever paid to see. That, and I have a crush on Dorkman and he obviously has some things to say about this one.)
3) Roger Rabbit (Childhood favorite/trauma. Fucking Dip man. Judge Doom nightmare fuel. I think the group would have some great insight on this one.)
4) Unforgiven (Changed this for Trey for all the reasons he stated. I will see this at once and look forward to the commentary)
5) Kick-Ass (Of the 18, this one is on my list for some reason)
6) American Beauty (DIF needs more Kevin Spacey)
Honorable Mention: Batman Returns, My Favorite Martian (TREYSTORIES!)
Dark Knight
Unforgiven
Transformers 3
Barry Lyndon - best film ever from a cinematography perspective!
The Road
Requiem for a Dream
rtambree, three of the films you picked aren't in the list on page one
And then at the end she was frantically asking the guy how they made it 3D, and he couldn't do anything but repeat 'I don't know, I just don't know.'
Aw, I really wanted to shit all over The Happening. Maybe we can run them side by side and tag team them.
1) Batman Returns (Trey worked on it)
2) My Favorite Martian (Trey worked on it)
3) The Wizard of Oz
4) Unforgiven
5) Kick-Ass
6) Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
1. American Beauty
2. Citizen Kane
3. Super 8
4. The Dark Knight
5. Kick-Ass
6. The Dark Knight
Trey and Mike's campaigning seems to have paid off for both of them, and the Top 6 has shifted dramatically.
Also, there are only 17 films on that list.
man, i'm waaay to lazy to count how many votes each movie has... but i want to see avat-err i mean airbender ( for teague ) get shit on more than any movie in this world
