The BBC have popped up 24 extra TV channels for the duration of the Olympics, so they are literally showing *all* the Olympics live, simultaneously. If I were into sport, I'd probably find it amazing, although I would despair at all the extra PVRs I'd have to get to record everything. The production galleries must be pretty fearsome.
However, they're not all on Freeview (there isn't enough over-the-air bandwidth for 24 extra TV channels, so Freeview is only a couple of extra red button channels in the 30x range), but they are all on satellite, Freesat, cable and online.
I'm impressed with how many options the BBC have made available: I think everything is live in HD, much of it is in 3D, and some of it is in Super Hi-Vision (7,680 x 4,320 picture, 22.2 sound). It makes NBC's delayed, edited version look utterly pathetic by comparison.
