I appreciate the thought, but I'm fairly sure it won't help us for you to buy it through us like that. Someone did that a long time ago when buying a digital camera, and Amazon got mad at me and said it was fraud because it was clear someone just did it to throw us a couple bucks.

As for iPads, I know nothing.

I personally find I much prefer the iPad mini, myself. What do you plan to use it for?

iPad ad 4 is pretty much as sweet as it gets. I like the 3 a little better for viewing photos and videos but the 4 beats it on all other fronts.

I have an Amazon Associate account too, and there are all kinds of rules about when you get credit and when not, and I may not have done it right to give DIF credit, but I can't see a reason why they would accuse you of using it yourself.

I've heard the mini is actually more convenient, and I might actually buy one of those too because I'm thinking of getting an iPad for my mother anyway.

I plan to use the iPad for entertainment when I fly, which is very frequently, and for showing off photos that I just took with my camera at family gatherings. I'm constantly taking pictures and then having to pass the camera around, so I'd rather swap SD cards and keep shooting while the subjects are looking at the photos on the tablet. Ideally, there would be some wireless card thing that automatically transfers the photos as I take them.

And maybe doing lines of cocaine. Also, is it any good as a bludgeoning weapon?

I'll throw my 2 cents in and say the the screen on the full size iPad is leaps and bounds beyond the screen in the Mini. 

I also use an Eye-Fi card, and it's amazing.  Even more amazing for me, in that I use it in an all-Mac ecosystem, so when I snap a picture it automatically goes to my phone, and then into the cloud where it's snatched by the desktop back home.  Pretty swanky.

I can tell you, as someone who has always liked iPads but never particularly wanted to buy one, or at least not enough to actually do it... Mike's little iPad mini is really, particularly tempting to me.

For the added convenience of it being tiny and versatile, you lose some screen size you might want if your intention is to watch movies on planes. But if your intention is to read books on planes - perfect. Very lightweight, easily held in one hand.

And it's definitely big enough for passing around photos and whatnot. (It's a little bigger than one of those 5x7 photos from the long long ago.)

I actually carry a Garmin navigator everywhere because I travel so much. It's better than phones and I don't want to rely on one device (and its one battery) for everything.

I don't have a smart phone, but that's probably in the near future as well. My current phone is more than 4 years old.

So, I'll get the iPad 4, and I've added an Eye Fi card to my order. My questions now are around the cover or case and other accessories. Do iPeople say "Oh, you just have to get the Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads to go with that. You can't live without them." Or what?

I believe the Apple portable weapon of choice is the Macbook Air. Its tapering cross-section to the front edge means it's not only a handy chopping weapon, but also a useful bread knife.
