I'm close to abusing the space nerds thread so I'm posting this here - it is cool after all
(Posting this because Doug Engelbart just died. Who? Well...)
Imagine living in a world where 'computing' means batch processing, teleprinters, punched cards, and computer operators running everything for you. It's 1968.
You attend this presentation, now known as The Mother of All Demos, where Doug Engelbart and his team basically demonstrate: windows, mice, pointers, graphical user interfaces, hypertext linking, dynamic document manipulation, remote networked collaboration with streaming video, collaborative document editing, and approximately everything we think of as a complex modern computing environment.
All at once.
*Mind* *blown* does not begin to cover it.
More info here.
The mudderfracking Doug Jones ladies and gentlemen.

Got my Rebel T2i/550D to shoot in RAW. Made a quick video.
RAW, is that a Magic Lantern setting?
That is very cool, but is it actually an improvement visual-wise? I see you're taking a hit on resolution to be able to do it. I'm not super knowleadgeable about this stuff but what's the big advantage of shooting in RAW? Is it just sharper image quality with less compression? Does it give more flexibility in post?
^^
Good find, Squiggly. Will have to give that a listen
Also, BDA, I love "Hey Ya" for reasons really unexplainable here but that took me back to college days and hanging out with friends. Also, the music video is incredibly complicated and hilarious.
I'm not sure if this has been posted here yet, and I'm too lazy to look.
Powerful stuff.

Yah, I love the original, and the music video is absolutely something to marvel at. But Obadiah Parker's cover is just like...woah.
It's really cool to actually hear the lyrics like this too, there's a lot more going in there than I gave it credit for at first.
@Withkittens: Someone posted that on my FB a couple days ago, but it hasn't been posted here.
The article I got linked to was actually titled "Dustin Hoffman Breaks Down Trying To Explain Something Every Woman Has Already Unfortunately Experienced." Which is like holy people, would you like a shovel to lay that on thick enough for yah?
But indeed, very powerful little clip.

That was really moving, thanks WithKittens. I've not seen Tootsie for literally decades, and really want to now.
Can't believe these haven't been posted here yet.

Honestly we could just post the entirety of all of Ze Franks channels here and nothing wouldn't apply. That man is amazing.
There is nothing about this I don't love.
...I want it, I want it so. I want it, and then I'll put in in a movie, and I'll hug it, and kiss it and feed it and love it...
