Well, straight up, I wouldn't. I love everything about now, and only wish it was later.
But if I had to pick, I'd probably go with the late 1960s in America, to experience Apollo and that-era rock and roll. The downside is, Cold War. Which, yeah.
Prior to that, maybe... um. Honestly, I'd like to live in a Mongol-era foothill or plain society.
Question: Stones or Beatles, and why. If you don't give me at least five sentences on this, I think you cheaped out.
Beatles.
Personal preference, but mainly because Abbey Road and White Album. I am one of those rare people who despises Sgt Pepper's with every fiber of my being. I even like their earlier stuff. As for the Stones, a lot of their music sounds very samey to me. Their newest albums sound like their first albums but recorded with better equipment. On one hand I think it's awesome that they still have the same vibe, but on the other, they haven't really done much experimentation that I'm aware of. The beatles, on the other hand, played the same stuff for a couple albums, and every subsequent album was a bold experiment of newness.
I don't listen to much of Sgt Pepper's, like I said, but that album was amazingly different and fresh when it came out, and remains a pretty unique sounding album even today. Even the album I hate is something I respect a great deal on a musical level. Not to mention the fact that the Stones were and are all about sex drugs and Rock, while the Beatles ended up being more Peace, Love and Grooviness, which is a philosophy I dig a hell of a lot more.
I love the Beatles.
You have a 35mm camera, a single role of 35mm film (24 exposures) and a time machine. What do you do?
I ditch the 35mm, travel into the future grab a super HD digital camera with a 100 terabyte hard drive (or whatever happens to be powerful in the future). And then go wild.
Personally I would probably fill it with lots of ancient ruins in their heyday. Giza Pyramids being high on the list. Travel around europe for a while. Definitly check out a gladiator show. Hit up the silk road for a good time. Head down to south america, check out Machu Piccu in all it's glory, probably hit up a human sacrifice or two. And finally I'd wrap it all up with a tour through histories greatest beauties
Same question, since I'm curious... and I cheated. ![]()
Make a Marilyn Monroe sex tape.
You're face to face with God. You've one question, and you don't get to ask the meaning of life. What'cha ask?
Cartoon - Calvin and Hobbes.
If you meant animation - Akira.
Both changed my understanding of what their formats could be.
You are told to get a tattoo. What do you get, where, and why?
I'll let DigitalAsh take this one, what with Iceland and the economy and all.
No. I use Rock Smash to build a tunnel to whatever piece of land is closest. Duh.
You find yourself suddenly in the midst of a vampire night club, with all attendees hungry. How do you pitch yourself non-appealing to get out?
Why... I don't... Why would you make me choose? I just love both so much. You...You're an awful person. I will not answer this.
I will. Game of Thrones, hands down. Don't get me started on BSG.
What, to you, was the finest moment in any television series ever?
To me, the best thing Whedon has ever done was the scene in Willow's room during the Buffy season 5 episode, The Body. That didnt feel like, "just tv," and in many ways, elevated the genre.
Your new martian friend has time for movies that sum up the human experience. Go.
I don't think I'm qualified to answer that question. I guess I'd start with movies that show humanity's impression of aliens. Everything from WAR OF THE WORLDS to ET.
You know what? I'm going to start a thread about this. I bet a lot of people have great answers.
You have the ability to relive one movie from the perspective of its protagonist. You have control over their action for the duration of the film. What movie do you choose, and what choices do you make?
Portal, Nolan.
By the way, Nolan was not a default answer, I was trying to figure out who could take what was basically a game mechanic and make it interesting, and Nolan is good with taking technical machinations and making them into movies. If I was focusing more on the Aperture Science side of things... potentially Duncan Jones. Joss is a cop-out answer at this point, but it'd need to be someone with a sense of humor and a grasp of scifi.
Interesting question. I'd like to see someone else answer it, so, next person: same question.
I was actually gonna say Portal too. But I hadn't thought of Duncan Jones, that could be interesting. I would actually be muuuuch more interested in the Aperture Science side of things, more than just a "well here's something about Portals." I really like the way portal 2 handled it. Making Chell the center of it all, but this universe is just happening and existing and unfolding around her as she tries to escape.
And yeah the Halo movie just makes me sad inside ![]()
Non dominant. I'd then invest heavily in future tech prosthetic companies and dream cyborg dreams of sheep.
Worst date ever?
Are we talking hypothetical or actual experience here?
