Don't want to get into a huge Lost conversation again, but what was it about it you hated? Did you hate season six as a whole or were you liking it until the finale? smile

Season six as a whole was problematic, but it really was just the finale. It's not that I needed all the questions to be answered, it's just something bothered me about the ending; it was a cop out, as if the writers/creators said, well, we asked all these great questions, but how the hell are we going to end this. And they came up with what they came up with smile

Maybe "hate" is a strong word. I very much didn't like it.

Season 1 of Breaking Bad, because of the writers' strike, was barely a season. At least give it to season 2.

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Confession time - after being a devoted LOST fan from day one, the final season disappointed me so badly that to this day I haven't seen the last two or three episodes.    Once the island became Hogwarts By The Sea, they didn't have to make anything make sense anymore.  So wherever they were headed in the finale, I'd stopped caring.

I read a few synopses of the finale - since I wasn't worried about spoilers any more - and it sounded about as lame as I was afraid it would be.

And as I said earlier, I am not a fan of season six of Lost but I did like the finale, at least the last scene. I loved how they tied it up to the pilot and the very first scene, I thought that was beautiful. But yeah, season six went all batshit insane and, dare I say it, boring.

I do, however, like the episode Across the Sea (Lost: Season 6), that everyone seems to hate.

I've never understood this sentiment at all, since the flaws of part 2 are painfully evident in the other 2 installments. What makes 2 shit also makes 1 and 3 shit as well.

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Here's another unpopular opinion of mine: I like Serenity more than Firefly.

I mean, I like Firefly a lot. It's pretty special to me. But if given the choice, I'l watch Serenity before I'll watch any episode of Firefly.

I can't put my finger on it. For my money, Serenity has a lot more rewatch value than Firefly.

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Really? Strange, Serenity always kinda puts me off for some reason. It just feels like half a degree off from what really makes Firefly Firefly for me.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but on the Pixar scale type graph of Firefly, it's just slightly lower than basically all of the series (If it's between Heart of Gold and Serenity...Serenity wins)

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Another Kevin Smith unpopular opinion.

I like Jersey Girl. It is not a bad movie. I think most of the shit it gest comes from the Benifer thing and Gigli coming out earlier that year and beign so terrible (or beign reviewed so terribly, haven't seen it).

I will never pretend Transformers 1 & 3 are good movies. But TF1 was fun. I thought Lebouf was charming as were his parents (I love Lulie White and Kevin Dunn). They were terrible (the characters) though in TF2 and that movie was overlong (even more overlong) and a mess. Also, in addition to a geriatric robot, minstrel bots.

Still, none of them are good movies. Unless you're talking about the animated version and that's a masterpiece tongue wink

I'm gonna need some elaboration on why. No judgement, I'm honestly curious.

Same here. I still watch/listen to it all the time.

I love Aaron Sorkin's writing, (a LOT) that simple. I'm not in the TV business and don't care much about the inaccuracies. Just give me good dialogue and I'm in. I also love the actors in both. It's good enough for me. I know there are flaws, still like them both.

And Olivia Munn is great in The Newsroom (I understand why people don't like her, but she's still good, in The Newsroom).

I love this thread btw, fun reading all these confessions. And we've been very civil haven't we? Let's pat ourselves on the back a little.

It's actually an Atheist musical. I mean, take a look at it: Jesus at no time performs a miracle. Judas is shown at having a legitimate point, especially when you consider that 30 years later the Jews DID rise up, and Rome destroyed the temple. You'll often see productions done in a religious way (I saw a touring version that had demons tempting Judas during his opening song), but that's not what Tim Rice had in mind.

Bible scholar Robert Price has a book where he considers JSC as an actual Gospel, which at some point I'll have to get.

JSC is about as Gospel as "Last Temptation of Christ." That book would be an interesting read.

I am totally going to check that out. I remember having a conversation with Rob Bell (an influential pastor from Michigan) about the show and he had some great stuff to say about it's portrayal of Jesus as a complex human. But he's a progressive, so I don't know if it's a typical opinion.

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Not to change the topic... but, I was reminded of something...

Chicken Little is one of the best animated movies of the last 20 years. As is Ice Age.

Honestly not sure how unpopular that is, I don't really hear a lot of people talking about either of them, I guess I'll find out. tongue

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Chicken Little or Chicken Run?

If the latter, then I love that movie.

Ice Age is meh

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Here's another one: Kill Bill is not that great. It feels like an over-indulgent fan film that has more style than substance, a 4-hour-long homage to old movies. Death Proof is another (more egregious) example of this.

So honor the valiant who die 'neath your sword
But pity the warrior who slays all his foes...

And Chicken Little Pointy. Although... Chicken Run is better by a tiny little bit tbh now you mention it.

Re: #45 - Unpopular Opinions

Chicken Little and Ice Age are pretty decent movies, but I always prefered the Shrek series (as I mentioned before, our Polish dub improves Shrek a lot).
