Well, she's taking it rather well.   But of course

SPOILER Show
she knows her gig is going to run several more seasons at least.

Some part of me truly believes that spoilers on this intiricate and grandiose a level must be a hatecrime of some sort.

"Game of Thrones" LITERALLY MEANS "political strife".

Just because it's called that doesn't mean that it doesn't contain so much more. The major events of the series are motivated by desire for power, but the show has so much more going on, which is why it's such a great show.

He says after posting a video that contains a total of 15 words of spoilerific goodness in a thread dedicated to discussing that very topic, and after numerous, if not plentiful, amounts of unspoiler-tagged posts discussing said events.

Whereas that Onion post is on a very public site that a lot of people browse, and without even nary a note that this post might contain spoilers, goes into in depth and graphic detail explaining every minutia of the last 10 minutes of that episode.

Give me a fucking break.

Nope. Not really. Political strife is indeed all there is to the show. Hardly a single character has any motivation other than power, lust, and lust for power. It's like The Phantom Menace on TV, except there's 20 Palpatines and like 3 Anakins and a slave girl's tits now and then.

With all due respect, and as someone who's watched more than the first season, you're wrong about the show.

Seeing the reaction to this, I REALLY can't wait for the Purple Wedding, presumably early next season. Hell, they might even push it to next week's finale, just to make fans feel better.

Yep.

SPOILER Show
The finale needs to get the audience intrigued about what the next season will bring, so they'll have to  give a few hints/introduce some new elements/etc.    I can make a case for why the Purple wedding could be the season finale, I can also see why they'd wait until next season.   Could go either way.

I think the most likely OMG they'll use as their season-ender will be to introduce Lady Stoneheart - which would make a nice followup to last week, and pay off all the "Brotherhood Without Banners" info they've planted through this season.

Re: Game of Thrones (TV Discussion | SPOILERS)

Was thinking the same thing, Trey. And it would be a heck of a cliffhanger. The only issue is the time compression that would have to happen.

I don't see them bringing the Purple Wedding for a last episode; they need to keep some big stuff for next year. Although, there's also the crossbow thing...

I suspect they'll end it with Lady Stoneheart, Mhysa (episode title duh), and Coldhands. Not sure where they're gonna end off Arya, if they want more stuff with her and the hound next season, or have her start her journey you-know-where in this finale

Re: Game of Thrones (TV Discussion | SPOILERS)

SPOILER Show
I buy that... they could move up the finale with the Hound to wrap him up this season and stretch Arya's time in Braavos over next season.

Coldhands would be a good WTF game-changer, and it's exactly time for him to show up, so I suspect you're right about that one.

Re: Game of Thrones (TV Discussion | SPOILERS)

  Show
I don't want to place my bet on the Purple Wedding happening in the finale (the fact that Talisa is not a spy still hurts...) but I think that it would work for 'Mhysa' since its fallout is so central for Cersei. Joff's death is what pushes her over the edge, and having Tyrion's fate be on the line would be a great way to keep viewers interested.  And then we can open season 4 with some good old fashioned altar fucking!
