Brotherhood of the wolf. Damnit.

How about something like The Host? I'd be interested to see some more foreign films on your site.
Whoa. Wait. We have another Scot on the forum? Let's put it in a cage with Jimmy and see if they breed!
/welcome
EDIT: Actually, I would suggest some Dario Argento, but you can't just watch one and then talk about it. You have to watch a few gialli and compare and contrast. You could probably watch just one Hammer Horror and talk about it. I don't recommend the Frankenstein ones, tho. Stick with the vamps.

The Host would make a great DiF. I don't really like it (I think it's a little too silly, and I didn't really buy any of the characters' actions), but it would make for a great discussion.

I know, I don't feel as special any more
And welcome to the forum, Mellowrages
Scream (1996)
Or
The Lost Boys (1987)
Carrie.
Love the set pieces, am oddly bothered by the way some of it unfolds...especially at the very end.
I need to re-watch that flick.
Kung Fu Hustle (just had the DVD posted out, and remembered how much I love it)?
I DON'T KNOW WHAT KUNG FU IS
WHY AM I ON A MOVIE PODCAST

KFH is a good place to start; it's well shot, funny, doesn't take itself seriously, and stands up to repeat viewing. Being foreign it requires subtitles.
PERFECT FIT!

I smell a new image!
KUNG FU HUSTLE is one of my absolute favorite films. (I know I say that about a lot of movies. I have a lot of favorites. But I loathe a lot of movies, too, so the net energy of the universe remains zero.) But I don't expect we'll do a DIF of it. I think it might be a wee bit esoteric.
Its one of thosen near perfect films which delivers on its promise and them some. It's similar to Shaun of the Dead in that it's doing a thing, but doing it from a place of love and respect.
You kids did the fountain for fucks sake, how is KFH too esoteric?
Fixed makes a good point about The Fountain (I would have said UHF). And that was a top 10 episode for me.

Is that your best Shia impression, Teague?

I found KFH thoroughly unremarkable. It's not that I disliked it, it just didn't do anything for me and I honestly struggle to recall anything about it. I never felt it was trying to be a Shaun of the Dead or Galaxy Quest for the genre, it's just another typical Stephen Chow movie, who's made a career out of these types of silly films.
There are much better intro to Kung fu movies out there, some of Jackie Chan's 80s films for instance.
Seeing as how the new Transformers movie is being billed as "The greatest action film of all time" or something, that sounds like DiF fodder to me.
Not sure if this has been suggested yet, but how about the recently released Mimic: Director's Cut?
I can't recall whether it's been suggested before, my brain's not working much today, but how about a double bill of Dog Soldiers and The Descent? Two Brit horror movies from Neil Marshall.
Would DiF have much to say about Dog Soldiers? The Descent on the other hand, I second this idea. That's a visceral, haunting mood piece... as long as it's the Director's Cut version, not the Theatrical version. Thankfully, I believe the DC is the only version that exists on DVD & Blu-ray, and the theatrical cut elements are simply supplemental material/deleted scenes.
A Descent commentary could be interesting since Mike doesn't like it much (if I recall). Don't know about the other guys.
