Re: The Results Are In

I'm disappointed that Roger Rabbit lost out in being in the final six. The overall list is good, though even if I don't really care about listening to a Kick-Ass one because I like that film big_smile

Re: The Results Are In

Huh. So if I'd remembered to vote, Roger Rabbit would have happened.

Now I feel bad...

I'll admit, I'm a tad bit disappointed that Transformers 3 didn't make the cut, but otherwise I'm psyched about this list. Looks like I have to watch Unforgive now...

I'd vote for the Director's Cut of Close Encounters myself.

So, here are the results. We took Phi's final numbers and added our votes (me, Brian, Dorkman, Trey) at the same point-value as everyone else's,

Quick question: did you know what Phi's final numbers were BEFORE you guys picked your movies and added in your votes ? Should I be wondering if there was some anti-bunnyness conspiracy afoot to keep out Roger Rabbit ??????? tongue

this brings up another thing:  how many of you DIDN'T vote for a flick because you didn't think it would win?

Anyone wanna take bets on how long it takes Teague to swap the forum header? big_smile

Like the little Rodger Rabbit header.  Teague might keep it there for a while but maybe not that long.  Will admit that it sucks that the movie missed out from being in the Big 6.  Even more so since it missed it by just a few votes.

Crazy idea.  Maybe if there's enough companing/annoying from us, they'll consider doing Rodger Rabbit right after the changes happens to DiF following 3/10.

Re: The Results Are In

Ha. I'll leave the header for a little while.

Although, on a completely unrelated note, it occurred to me last night it'd be really cool if we use the header to also promote a creative project done by someone on the forum. So it says Down in Front Forum Community like usual, but the background is a really cool frame grab from something in the creations thread, and the banner is a link.

As for voting, yeah, we knew the numbers when we made our final vote selection - but you guys did too, so, n'yah.  tongue

That approach inspired us to NOT do Back to the Future for three years... how much time you got?

Re: The Results Are In

I just watched the last airbender as homework for the weekend.  I'll never get that time back, I've flushed things of a higher artistic quality than that movie.  It does win the award for most unrealistic and least aerodynamic flying creature ever in film.

FUCK YEAH!!
Roger Rabbit is a damn good movie, but this one needs to suffer for its crimes against humanity.

Did you just diss Appa? You do NOT diss Appa. At least, not TV series Appa, and he's just as unaerodynamic as he is in the movie. But awesome.

Re: The Results Are In

I'm rewatching airbender right now just to recollect the movie better. The commentary for this flick is gonna be amazing. There's just so much wrong with it. The only thing that isn't utterly fucked up is the costume designs, and that's kinda iffy.

Also really excited about Unforgiven. I wasn't sure that was gonna make it. Kinda bummed out that Citizen Kane didn't make the list, but even though I like that movie a lot I'm not sure if it's something that can be talked about for it's entire running length. You'd probably have to talk about Welles' entire career or something.

Re: The Results Are In

Appa was a character in the show. He's only on screen for about 5 minutes of the movie, and he's just an animal. The little flying dude is only in a few shots of the movie as well. One of those things where he'd fly into the frame and I'd suddenly remember "oh yeah, they did put him in there, didn't they?" and then he'd vanish for a half hour and I'd forget all over again.

Also, if you write a movie with a child actor in the lead, don't write in any scenes where that kid screams. And don't shove the camera up his nose every five minutes.
