Re: Cool vids...again.

David Fincher just did a Justin Timberlake video, I believe the first music video he's done since Closer. I'm not terribly fond of the song, but it's still interesting work from Fincher. And Justin Timberlake is kind of undeniably cool... Come on...

Re: Cool vids...again.

That was the end of S8. S10 is the most recent.

Unless you were referring to the last season of post Blood Gulch Freelancer.

Either way. Yeah. The fight scenes in S9/10 are freaking epic (And that one at the end of 8). The entire Falling Towards The Sky sequence, the fight before and the falling sequence, gives me happy feelings all over.

That reminds me...I really need to do a RvB marathin sometime soon, I fell off the wagon a little ways into S10.

EDIT: C-Spin...interesting. Have to watch that. And yeah, I know what you mean about JT. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't not love him. He's easily been the best thing on SNL in the last decade.

It was a general reference to the epic fight scenes that they keep building upon and changing around. The script writing is also well done. Season 10 was such an interesting tale that I'm still sorting it all out in my head.

So, go watch it

It's certainly a weird choice. I can see him pairing with Timberlake because they worked on Social Network and Fincher's done pop videos before (black and white dancey ones, even), but this song's kind of a dud. Still plenty of cool shots, at least...

Gotcha fire. Yeah, i really need to finish S10. S9 was kinda a let down story wise for me. It just kinda wandered around for a while and ended with Burnie giving himself a huge monolouge that supposedly....meant...something?...and fixed Church...somehow?

Anyways, it's been a while since I watched S9, so it might be better a 2nd time around for the Blood Gulch storyline.

You want to chat about it, hit me up in PM. I've got my own thoughts but Burnie definitely leaves a lot open to interpretation.
S10 is definitely worth a watch, even with only passing info about S8 and 9. S10 shows them expanding the story and their world again.

Yeah, they showed live performances of it in cinemas throughout the UK. I wanted to see it but sadly couldn't. Its not usually my sort of thing but the fact it was Boyle and that the actors shared the role from night to night made me want to see it twice.

It looks like the kind of production well suited to good local groups, so I'm sure many of us will get the chance to see a version of it over the next few years.

I just realized there are touring companies of stage musicals, but not plays. Maybe because plays ARE easier to produce, or at least cheaper than most musicals.

Basically it boils down to stage shows are fuuuuucking expensive to put on the road, musical or not. The return on a musical is just going to be better than a straight up play. Most people, if they see a poster or advertiement in passing are much more likely to say let's go see a musical, than let's go see this thing where people talk at each other for 2 and a half hour in front of me. It's a sad fact of theater. So you just aren't as likely to get your money back if you tour a straight stage show, which is unfortunate cause there's quite a few really good shows that I wish would tour so I could go see them.

Chris Hadfield, orbiting more than 400km above the earth playing a song live with Ed Robertson. Yeah. I love living in the future.

Also, for some reason this song just really reminded me how much I love Ed's voice.

An unconventional 20 minute montage of deleted scenes from THE MASTER. Fascinating stuff if you've seen the film, especially something that happens at the 14 minute mark, which would have been a fundamental aspect of any discussion surrounding the film.
