Topic: Need thoughts on shirt design

So I'm designing and buying t-shirts for a friend and I. We've been planning on going duckpin bowling together for almost half a year now, and it hasn't happened because busy lives. So we've set a date in the fall.
I thought it would be funny (since we've spent a lot of time on smacktalk regarding our future competition) to have shirts when we finally go: especially since neither one of us has ever gone duckpin bowling.

If anyone is inclined, check out the designs below and let me know how I might make them look more "authentic," since I have no idea what sports jerseys are like up close.

PS my friend is from the Netherlands, hence the "nederland" shirt.

Love 'em.

In both cases, maybe put a white stroke around the player number. (And then possibly adjust their position to suit, as the stroke will add a bit of weight.) You might also want to consider spreading out the features on the fronts of the shirts vertically, as they seem a little crammed together at the moment.

Hm. I tried the stroke around the number and I'm not a fan. But spreading out the verticality of the front helps a ton. Thanks!

I second Teague's vertical spacing idea; in addition to that, you may want to move the top margin down a bit. It's a little close to the neck right now IMO.

I fiddled accordingly, and I ended up actually liking the grey stroke once I changed the number from the temporary 27 to the real 14.
