Considering my take away from the movie was "damn, I'd love a movie about Vision" I'm not sure how valued my opinion would be to such a discussion.

Any quibble I had with the film was worth it for that scene at the end, with him and Ultron in the woods.

I do look forward to seeing the Russo Brothers take on the franchise, but am also sad to see Joss go.

Also The Eagles aren't immune from corruption, even Gandalf was tempted briefly by the fate. The eagles can't be trusted.

Holy shit

I can't believe this is happening.

Hope this all goes well.

Nova Prime (Glenn Close) and Gamora speak about something that is not a man, but there conversation is more of a group conversation so I don't know if that counts.

Well my point is that Bradley Cooper doesn't have a distinctive voice - he's DOING a voice as Rocket.  But there are lots of voiceover actors out there who can DO voices.   I don't think Bradley Cooper has much background at that.

I think nowadays they're at the point where if it's a live action movie they get a live action actor. That he will be replaced later by CGI is secondary. Maybe they wanted his on set improv skills, who knows. We don't know who else was up for the part. I'll go in assuming he is some nameless voice actor and judge it that way smile

Sean Gunn was the on-set actor for Rocket, and he did a more cockney voice on set. Bradley did the voice pretty much after all the filming was done, but his recordings were recorded and used by animators to add his mannerisms.

Sean Gunn was also the on-set actor for Thanos, before Brolin was cast, however they went back and did mocap and facial capture for Brolin because he's going to be physically playing him in later films, but Lee Pace played opposite of Sean for the scene where he turns around.

I definitely understand Trey's first point - because as a huge fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy comics (and more importantly the storylines that lead before the team got their own book) it was way easier for me to get. I know these characters, items and events, so it's more just seeing how they're slotted in to this take on the universe, and while I really enjoyed the film as a whole, there was a niggling feeling in the back of my mind about how confused people who weren't me were.

As a fan of the series, I was just happy to be in a theater watching a movie of this property, as I never in a million years would have thought it would happen. While waiting for the post-credit scene two kids next to me talked excitedly about the characters (mainly Groot, Rocket and Drax) and it validated my entire investment in the series for me.

It's not up to me. I am here to watch and observe, not decide things.

I hadn't heard that he'd changed from Pym to Lang. That suggests he didn't have much of a script for a long time. Maybe then the creative differences lie in the realm of Wright failing to tie the story into the Avengers stuff once he did have a script.

He had mentioned back at Comic-con 2008 that the film would have a little prologue set during the Cold War showing off Pym, but the film would be about Lang stealing the Ant-man suit and crossing paths with Pym who goes from an adversary to a mentor. Pym was still there I guess, but the focus was always on Lang taking over, rather than say, Pym and his wife.

Although I feel I've liked each of Wright's pictures less than the previous one I was still very interested in seeing his take on a Marvel superhero, and am disappointed to see him leave.

Edgar Wright's approach was actually not involving the character with the bad marriage, Paul Rudd was set to star as the second character to don the Ant-man mantle whose a single-father.

I am truly curious to see what caused this divide considering the film only exists because of Wright's script and vision. So far all we're getting is the normal PR "amicable split".

After over 8 years of developing the project, with a cast and filming schedule all lined up to start, Edgar Wright walks from Ant-man over creative differences. This is pretty weird considering Marvel Studios since 2006has said the only reason they were even making an Ant-man movie was due to Edgar's script and vision. They were content to wait since 2006 to give him time because they were in no hurry to get this IP out, so it's crazy to hear there was a creative difference big enough to have Wright walk from such a long developed project that only existed because of him.

I know not everyone gives a care about superhero films, but the backstory to this films development and this sudden departure is pretty crazy. This isn't the first director to part ways with Marvel Studios, but never on this scale.

Amazing. What a wonderful way to start off April Fools.

Looking forward to the Intermission tongue

Apparently Brad Bird will be involved, as well as Frozone, according to Samuel L. Jackson.

"Every time I run into Brad [Bird, director] he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on, so I have to believe that. I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there. I'm just looking forward to seeing what Jack-Jack turned into."

1. Film adaptation of Mark Adams "Turn Right at Machu Picchu". Essentially a story about the "discovery" of Machu Picchu, but with the tone conveyed by Mark Adams writing. Essentially a "The Men Who Stare at Goats" adaption of "true events", with Alan Tudyk and Sam Rockwell as the leads.

2. A movie based on the pitch given in "The Mummy" podcast, where a group of veteran heist-men stumble upon a secret museum ritual being done to keep the monster asleep, to later come and steal it and utilize him as their newest member. They really come to bond with the mummy over several heists, and decide to embark on their greatest mission yet - to sneak an undead indestructible monster out of the country and get it home, without getting caught. The Mummy would obviously be played by Doug Jones.

3. Marvel Studio's Black Panther, an exiled man's journey to transform himself into something greater in order to retake his kingdom, with breath-taking cinematography, gratuitous use of beautiful African scenery and solid well-choreographed combat. I basically really wanna see Black Panther get his time to shine before the bubble bursts.

Obviously the family is the core of the film, but I would like to see a bit more of Frozone (maybe he's now had kids?).

Do they need to be fresh and live ones, or can we post some that have passed but are still cool?

Cus here's one of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny the night before the 20th Anniversary X-Files Comic-con panel they did.

It really says a lot about Michael Bay and the Transformers films when you can show me a giant robot riding a dinosaur wielding a sword and I still have no interest in seeing the film.

I finally caught Zero Dark Thirty on Starz. Never was super interested in it because I always felt it looked like a sort of propaganda film. Was actually really entertained and drawn-in by it, and surprised to see it focused more on how much we fucked up and got in the way of actually finding UBL.

After that they played Terminator 2, so it was a good way to spend an evening.

I've noticed that - outside of his off-the-grid disappearance and coincidental return, much of the evidence and accusation towards Rust comes from the fact all 3 characters interviewed have been lying. Marty and Rust have to completely fabricate his visit to his father and how they came upon the killers due to all their rule bending that it casts suspicion on Rust of "leading" them there. Marty's execution of the killer leads to it being convenient the killer never got to talk to the police in their eyes . Maggie and Marty keeping quiet about the affairs and using of Rust also makes their incident in 2002 cast Rust in a negative light, seeing it as a build up of his anti-social behavior.

With all 3 characters lying the deck has become more stacked against Rust.
