I enjoyed watching it, then I liked it when I walked out. The more I think about it, the more I think I love it. Need to see it a few more times, but off the bat, that was a really enjoyable movie experience for me.

Anyone else?

Note, I'd recommend watching The Winter Stalker below before watching the making of. There's a spoiler.

Steve is a weird genius, and these making ofs he made for the Zerofriends DVD are amazing. There's ten total on the DVD if you buy it, including some interview time with me for a couple of them.

Here are the actual videos that correspond to the making ofs above.

The Winter Stalker is one of my favorite shorts ever, by the way. Also by the way, try to spot me in the ad for the DVD after the making ofs.

My initial reaction, from someone's Facebook wall, slightly edited:

I've been reading the set visits on AICN and everything, been super psyched, withholding judgment on the 48fps thing and all...but man. That trailer just sucked. The tone was all over the place, with weird (reading a letter?) narration for a second, then being a wacky unformed joke with...slightly difficult to swallow makeup, then a song, then trying to be epic over warm-and-unepic music, then sudden Gollum, and shitty title effects.

The hell?

I need to watch it a few more times so it's less of a shock to the system. I'm still excited, but, I seem to be in the minority for whom this trailer missed the mark.

Fixed is all Australian like, and does not look how I imagined. Nor does Jimmy, for that matter.

For some reason I pictured Fixed as a lanky guy with glasses and a goatee, and Jimmy as... um, Gimli. This is fun.

I vastly prefer our commentaries for the originals to the prequels. I think this is the opposite of most people. But you know, the prequels are a lot of pain veiled by joking, and the originals are just us discussing the stuff even nerds might not know about them and discussing their awesomeness.

And thanks, wrt TRON.

Dude, I love you. That looks awesome.

Check this out, I made some cool stuff for our Jurassic Park party. Here's a video from before things got hoppin' where I show off some of the cool stuff.

Also, here's a video just of the party. Which is worth watching if you oh so desperately lived in LA and could go to our amazing parties.

Wrapping up a whole year of Indiana Jones movies.

This is our 140th episode... wanna hear the negative-first episode? The Geekza Crystal Skull commentary is here, thanks to Zarban for hosting. Also, here's the episode of Geekza wherein we discuss Darabont's draft of Indy 4: City of the Gods.

This is the second time I've collaborated with Jim; the first time was the video on the homepage, and the third time is about to be Sad Max, and at this point I'm a pretty big fan of the guy. I did color correction, touch-up, and snowiness. Mostly in After Effects, with some Lightwave and Boujou here and there for the odd shot that needed something crazy. Rig removal. Etc..

Here's a before and after of the group shot, for instance. Lots of little tweaks and custom shading, plus the snow and the Coke polar bear commercial color style.

In related news, we hit Crave this morning (thanks Pav!), Topless Robot this afternoon, The Onion this evening, and there's a nifty interview with us up at Nerds in Babeland.

This is fun.

Also, if you're a lurker checking out the how-we-made-it, check out the homepage for the last thing Jim made, also with some help from me and the entire Down in Front community. Also, hey, listen to a podcast. Pick a movie you love, or hate, and press play. We're not crappy.

I am stunned that I have never heard of these guys. Clocking in 14, 16 million views? I've never even heard of them? Sheeeeit.

And I've enjoyed all the ones I've found so far. Fuck, man.
