Yeah, I do prefer the more adventurous feel myself. I think this could work someplace else though, the McDonalds or poem scenes maybe?

Sorry dad.
I was wondering why you weren't in the super secret Old TFN People Only section.
I always get giddy when I recognise somebody's TFN name!

Yep, this.
Summed up my wife's and I experience, though the second one lasted much longer than it should have. Also, cradle the head as you hold the baby
I learned that the hard way when I was 7 when I thought I'd be helpful and try to put my newborn baby sister to bed.
Wanna build a tunnel going back and forth between Melbourne and Los Angeles and forget those UK people even exist?
We could have code names.
That sounds awe...hey, wait!
I'm totally down with this. Whilst I'm not a huge Godzilla fan, I do have a quite soft spot for the old movies (Mothra vs Godzilla is my favourite).
Any chance I could get a special thanks for my friend jake Schwartz? Couldn't have done my segments without them. Maybe there should be a special segment of the credits or people whose cars/cameras/whatevers we borrowed.
If we're doing that; Liam Swann, Thomas Smith and Daniel Gibson all helped me out.
I quite like the B&W myself. Maybe a Wizard of Oz-style jump in to colour could work for the ending?
Yeah, how do you guys feel about the temp score? I'm working on the "real" one right now, but I have a bad case of temp love for what's in there already.
Whilst I think the temp score works great, I think an original score would only add to the homebrew 'Holy shit, aren't we awesome?' nature of the piece.
Damn, I love it! Zarban absolutely kills it in this. Also, I never really realised until now how good the Liar Liar score actually is.
I can offer Scouse subtitles.
I made a similar thread a while back, but that was solely just for first short films. May as well repost what I put in there though.
Nothing fancy, I know. But it was good fun to do and taught me a lot about the basics of filmmaking. I couldn't use any sort of NLA back then as I had no way of capturing it on to my computer, so all the editing was done in-camera. Throughout the years, I've occasionally gone back to it and done some special editions with some colour grading, muzzle flashes and a soundtrack.
Writing Movies For Fun And Profit has a chapter all on credits. It's geared for features, but there's no reason why it can't be applied to a short.
I don't have my copy handy right now, but if I remember I'll see if I can summarise what it says for you.
Teague wrote:and maybe a Mcdonalds departure, but I think the gag there works better as a hard cut to a generic driving shot, not actually leaving the restaurant
Maybe a shot of you considering the new offer, then cut.
That would probably work nicely.
Awesome job, Dave. We're actually getting there!
According to Faldor, I am the king of codecs. So anything you're having trouble with, send it my way and I'll see what I can do with it.
Guys, thanks for the positive feedback both here, and through emails and whatnot. We have the next two tepisodes planned in terms of content, if not recording date.
Ep 3: STORIES WE TELL and OVERNIGHT (with Trey and whoever else)
Ep 4: DECEPTIVE PRACTICES and THE IMPOSTER (definitely with Teague and also possibly Trey).
Ep 5: WEST OF MEMPHIS with my fight watching buddy, Geoff LaTulippe. Still have to find a second film with that one.
West of Memphis with Paradise Lost would make sense, right? You could talk about different approaches to the same subject matter and such.
You never know. Anyway: 30s, f/2.8, 1600 ISO. No filters.
If I tried anywhere in that range, I'd just get everything blown out. Screw you light pollution!
Zarban, do you want to plan my future for me?
There's a site called CDBaby where you can get your stuff on to iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc. You can also get physical copies made through them too.
EDIT: Just saw CDBaby has already been mentioned, sorry.
Maybe utilise some sort of Kickstarter-style rewards system? So much gets you the album + a one on one piano lesson on Skype. Or to just try and get the word out there, do something like a Reddit thread in which you say you will record yourself doing a song that involves everybody who replies (or if that gets out of hand, a select number of the top comments), similar to what you do now and then in the livestreams and then plug the album in the video. I dunno, cool little shit like that could work.
