I need a template page to copy formatting from, all the syntax and special characters required in the wiki editor jacks my brain.

I'm thinking the info in the project Halp thread should be part of the backbone of this thing. Some of those were practically transcripts.

Yeah, so no 'story' at all.

except the main love triangle.
They do have vampire sex, in a PG sort of way. Shark boy disrobes brifly. The CG baby isn't unforgivably bad, IMO, just uncanny like it was state of the art in 2001.

"Twihards." [takes note]

There's a lot of overlap with Beliebers, I gather.
Bronies, I hope, have at least slightly better sense.

NO SPUCKING FOILERS!
(I've got to go watch this abortion happen tonight. Unless one of you can kill me before then...?)

I liked all 3 Transformers movies, they deliver exactly what they promise.

Just read it, agree with Sqig. Had a hard time putting it down, truth be told.
Guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and watch the film now.

edit:

re 4) is Milla Jojovich still working?

re 5) the dog-alien in 3 does some munching, but it's framed in a wierd way so it's debatable what's happening. I agree the feeding motive has been left a bit too much to the imagination. Makes me wonder why cocooned bodies in 2 were not considered edible.

I tried to read Moby-Duck, which Trey mentioned in some episode or another, but I just couldn't do it.

Too bad about Moby Duck - I saw it at the bookstore and thought the topic was fascinating, but hadn't actually read it yet.

Wait. I know I'm coming back to this discussion months later...but...I'd read those sentences 5 or 10 times each before realizing there's a "u" where I perceived an "i." Are you talking about Moby-Duck..or Moby Dick?

If the "u" is a typo then...

Download this
from Librivox.

Most of the audiobooks in the Librivox collection are obviously amateur affairs, this one is an outlier for being of nearly professional quality...24-plus hours of it.

otherwise

nevermind.

I think this missed my generation, it was a thing the younger kids in school...maybe 5 ish years younger...seemed to be into. I was Mario and Zelda & Mike Tyson's punch out (in Nintendo terms) plus I was a PC nerd so I had Zork text adventures, Leisure Suit Larry and Starflight. I never got into Power Rangers for the same reason: kids' stuff that I was too cool for. Voltron, now, that shit was radical (the Lions more than the vehicle one), and the lesser known Transor Z was slightly less awesome.

^truth^

I know many people who've said they will move from Illinois to Indiana, and several who actually have, to escape the blue-style politics, taxation, etc. If this becomes a generational trend the red states will get redder, further polarizing the regional issues.

If you don't think the Red's have been holding the congress hostage for the past 4 years, I don't know what else to say. The purple maps don't inspire much hope in me that you're correct, either.

All hyperbole aside, we can't even seem to agree to disagree with the Reds on several issues.  To them they are fundamental while to us they are dangerously regressive.

So the Americans amongst have had their little election, and I was wondering, given the portrayal of your nation as being deeply divided and the painting by his opponents of a president that's leading the nation to an apocalyptic wasteland, could his re-election cause a catastrophe?

Looking at the electoral map I predict a cold, civil war. The rural regions of red versus big bad blue. They have more guns than we do, in the aggregate, so concern is justified...as are massive arms buildups and economic sanctions. Mutually assured destruction goes without saying.

Is that your work, Ashe? My dish overflows with jealousy.

Consider me convinced.

The OT Jedi are pacifists.
Obi Wan gives in to Vader's violence, and Luke can only defeat the Emperor by turning his loyal assassin against him.
The Jedi using the force against opponents in PT combat was a shock to me as well.

Short "o" smog, right, that's pretty much what I tried to mean. A quick google brings me to the transcript of the radio bit I heard.

Sherlock is voicing Smaug.

edit:

That's not the right interview after all, found the audio of it, on the plus side they pronounce Smaug like smog.

A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack.

So, englishy question.
My father read "Smaug" as [sm-aww-g] like "Aww, such a cute little fellah!"
However, I just heard a radio interview where it was pronounced [sm-ow-g] like "Ow! The little fucker bit me."

It may take time to re-train the voice in my head, so which is correct?

bullet3,
"Fish Story" finishes strong, as promised! Loved it.
From a construction standpoint, though, the writing bothers me. Isn't it just paint by numbers: concoct a realistic yet unlikely sequence of events, play them out of sequence then finally reveal the proper sequence of events? Sometimes I feel like that device is a crutch supporting a weak outline. Or is writing really that easy?

Still, great execution on very low budget, some cute ladies and a nifty fight...um...sequence.
