Can those snacks include fish fingers and custard?  [Doctor Who reference]

If DiF really wanted to drag out the Big 6 reveal they could do some sort of video where 1 by 1 the winners are determined.

Good luck with the counting.  With all the tallies to add up I would have to not only use my fingers but my toes as well.   wink

Be that as it may, I'm hoping that there are no mistakes in the "adding up" and the announcement of who the Big 6 are revealed won't be too long to make.

LET THE ANTICIPATION BEGIN!

This was a great intermission episode.  Maybe in another intermission you could do what you guys thought were some of the best/worst movies in 2011.

How different would it be to write up a series finale for a tv show if you're told about midway through that season to when you know that you have another complete season to "wrap things up"?

What is more difficult:  A reasonably new director getting their first shot at doing a "big time" movie or a director steping into a film series that has been very popular and has gained that film studio a lot of money?

What are some possible diffculties when you have to wrap things up for a long running series weather it's tv or movies?

What's interesting is that scene is exactly the sort of gonzo surreal thing they would have done on the original series, too.  There's just something about the tone of the movie that didn't work, even though on the surface it was trying to be faithful to the tv show.

I suspect The Avengers is too much a product of its time and place - it's possible to look at the original and appreciate its loopy sensibility in a quaint, nostalgic way... but it probably would require a new approach to the material to make it work for modern audiences.

Anyway, back to voting and stuff.

Is it possible Trey that you would be willing to do an Intermission or something like was done for the Red State/Kevin Smith rant special to defend your idea of the Avengers?  Neither seen the version that you're apparently in favor of but maybe hearing you defending it might convince me to give it a shot.  Merely throwing an idea out.

No doubt about Airbender.  I enjoyed the cartoon and seeing how the movie practically butchered it had me hurting while watching.  Understand that they had to modify things but what they did made me almost want me to bang off against a table.

Likely Dorkman's issues with the movie will likely be different then some of mine but I won't be surprise if I agree with him on some of them.

Since everyone was promised 18, I suggest we vote on what the 18th film should be.

I'll start: Star Trek: Nemesis.

You know, for Brian.

Really doubt that's going to really lead anywhere fcw but I'm willing to play along.  My pick would be:  ........Snakes On A Plane

You're giving a lot more thought to our schedule than we do.  smile

Usually we don't start thinking about any particular weekend until about Thursday, when we suddenly remember that we have to do a show.  Then we email each other a lot, to figure out if and when everyone's available, and if there's enough time to do one movie or two or none, etc.

Down In Front:  Three years of chaos that, from a distance, looks like order.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised at that being howing DiF "plans" things.  Whatever you guys do go with I'm sure that it wouldn't be disappointing.  Also Trey, was there for the recording of the intermission about Joss Whedon and it sounded like you were REAL eager for the upcoming Avengers movie.

After the big six is finalized will DiF do only 1 of them per week or will they go ahead and do the usual two commentaries per week?

I'm wondering since if they did the two per week it'll give them more time to just worry about getting things ready for the LotR marathon.

I'm REALLY going to feel sorry for whoever has to do the final point talley for this.

God help you redxavier for actually counting all those votes.  Currently I have no real issue with the list except shouldn't Kick-Ass somewhat not be included?  I mean, it was attempted a few months ago but a technically difficult preventing it from completely happening.  That's not to say that I wouldn't like to see DiF do a commentary for it but I'm worry that they might rehash from the previous attempt.

Also, up till 3/10 will the commentary that'll be posted on the website to be downloaded be the winners of this voting?  Meaning that whatever movie that you'll likely be starting this weekened, will be downloadable a few days later.  Just asking.

Not much of a Star Trek and Star Wars but you guys do a good job in making it not too "boring" to hear.  Also glad that the earlier problem was fixed.

SUGGESTION

Why not have each of the DiF crew pick 3 movies that they would like to do commentary on and when it's their time to pick the group choses from those 3 suggestions?

One could be for a movie Teague wants to do, then Trey's, then Dorkman's, etc.

Whatever the big six end up being, the ones that AREN'T should be heavily considered doing in the not so distant DiF commentary future.  I won't likely change my list but must admit that I'm real interested in hearing how Dorkman would react if Last Airbender is done.  I'm a fan of series that the movie was based off from but didn't much care for the movie.  Also wouldn't mind seeing how an Unforgiven commentary would be.

If we already posted our lists does it mean we can't "vote" again?  Kind of thing we SHOULDN'T since it wouldn't be right to do so as it would just stack the deck.  Just my opinion.

Glad that you're allowing us to give our opinion on what movies should be done before the shake up that DiF will be going through after March 10th.  Most of the options were difficult to narrow down but for the most part I was able to list them and here it is.

1)  The Dark Knight
2)  Transformers 3 (Mostly since if would be completely the series)
3)  Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
4)  My Favorite Martian (We've gotten some commetiares for movies that Trey has worked on and this would be nice addtion to the list)
5)  Battlefield Earth (A guilty pleasure movie that I like to watch every once and a while)
6)  Super 8

Would like to see Kick-Ass since you guys were actually doing a commentary on it but was left incomplete do to technically difficulties.  Lethal Weapon BARELY missed being added but mostly because of the other things you had.

Hopefully you keep the other movies that won't make the list in consideration to do commentaries in the future.  There are just some there that shouldn't be ignored.

Just curious, but has a start time been determined on when the LotR marathon will be happening on 3/10?

Didn't really say it before so I'm going to say it now.  I'm okay with the actual commentaries being cut down.  You've done so many almost a weekly bases for the past few years it might be a good idea on slowing down on doing them before you get sick of doing them.

You're probably going to come up, whether intentional or not, when you change things up.  If you can still do a commentary or two a month I'll be fine with it.  Hell, I'll be okay with there only being one commentary a month if that's what you want to do.

Guess I was correct  about coming up with more ideas for movie commentaries.  Like before they are listed in no particular order.

It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Commando
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
*Batteries Not Included
Short Circuit
Waterworld (You can explain why this multi million movie just bombed)
Superman
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Scarface
The Fan
Kung Fu Panda
The Waterboy
Green Hornet
Funny People
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Fluke
Toy Story
Paul
Super 8
Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon (You did the previous 2, might as well do the last 1)
Final Destination
The Last Airbender
Bloodsport

Been a fan of intermission and since you already have an idea what you're going to discuss during live shows, I'm going to go head and post up some of the ideas here.

1)  Things that hurt/killed a film/tv series.
2)  Are there movies/shows that you saw when you were younger and enjoyed/hate them but opinion has changed now that you're older?
3)  Could a rating for a film hurt/help a movie?
4)  Memorable cliffhangers and/or series finalies.

Glad to see that DiF has been able to go on for THREE YEARS and is continuing on just getting better.  Been checking out the site regularly since the Terminator 3 commentary was archived on the site and close to a year to hearing the live shows and hasn't been disappointed at all.  Haven't also agreed with the opinions about some of the movies but I'm okay with that.  Not much of a fan of the LotR movies but I'm looking forward in seeing how you guys do that marathon.

You also said that you wanted us to give suggestions on movies to do before March 10th and I have ideas.  Some of those, in no more particular order, are:

The Rock
Poltergiest (due the 2 others another day)
Incredible Hulk (you did "Hulk" so why not do the more popular 1)
Scream (mainly because I believe Teague said he never saw it)
Tremors
The Sandlot
Animal House
Porky's
Con Air
Shawshank Redemption (maybe you could finally get through it all)
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
Big Trouble In Little China
Tangled
Snakes On A Plane
Demolition Man
Stephin King's It
Big
City Slickers
Road House
Red Dawn
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

I know that the suggestion list is long and I highly doubt that you'll get through most of them but if some of them can be done I'll be okay with it.  If anymore come to me, which might happen, I'll post it.

Never been a member of a forum but since I've become a fan of DiF I decided to go ahead and sign up for this one.

Went with the username "farley22" since Farley was a nickname I had in high school and 22 is just my favorite number.  It's also because when I joined the live chat of DiF I needed a ID name and that was the one that poppped up in my head at the time.

Happen to come across Down in Front when I was on Zarban's site.  Downloaded all of the episodes that have been available and was only this year that I started to listen to the shows live.  Can still remember when the "Shashank Redemption" commentary wasn't working you decided to do something different and that became "Wanted" which in its own rights was fun to listen to.  Also like the DiF crew I'm from California and for some reason it's cool to live in the same general area of the show.

While it's the commentaries, intermissions or whatever else, I've come to enjoy whatever DiF puts out and hope to do so for ever how long.
