Are any of you guys reading Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples? It's one of the best series I've read in a very long time. I first came across Vaughan about five years ago when I started reading "Y The Last Man"

Saga follows Marko and Alana, two soldiers from opposite sides of a galactic war who have just had a baby in the middle of a war zone. I really don't know what I can compare the tone with, It has some very graphic scenes but not done for vulgarity or a whim. There was some fuss made this week about a character with a TV for a head being injured and images of gay porn appearing on his screen.

So yeah, Alana and Marko are basically on the run from bounty hunters, two armies and a Robot Prince on a spaceship that's actually a tree.

and their baby sitter is a ghost.

None of the elements should work but some how come together when put in the same comic.

It's like kind of like Star Wars with the whimsy of Doctor Who with added WTF.

I rather liked that one, although I'm in the middle of some compositing work and found myself just looking at Clara's hair in the comp shots!

It was also due to be released within weeks of battleship and if it would have hit the studio hard if this had bombed as well

Ah that makes sense!

It sounded like you were shooting at different frame rates.

Thanks Eddie!

I really enjoyed this episode  big_smile

Dorkman mentioned converting the footage to 24 fps and how he'd planned to use a motion blur added in post to compensate.

What frame rate were you shooting at and why the decision to output at 24?

It's Whedon so I'll certainly check it out although I don't actually know much about Shakespeare.

The last time I saw one of his plays it was "As You Like It" and it featured a robot.

The end of Argo where they can't tell anyone about their success would probably fall under Heroine's Journey, right?

I'm going to have to make friends to get this.

I made this in college in 2004. For some reason film students always feel the need to do a film about drugs. Something that held no interest for me until I read that films often used Flour as a film prop for coke.

This gave me the idea of Flour becoming an illegal drug in itself.

We've had that one three times now.  But it's still fun  cool

I think Bullet3 makes some valid points but it's popularity is probably just because of the tits.  tongue

Everything was so easy on mini-dv you shot on tape and captured in one format and worked in that format and exported in that format... I don't know why I ever stopped!
