I don't know what to say.
Much love, Mike. <3
The first person to get their footage in goes into the cut, and we move forward.
My wallet is ready if they do a making-of video you get to work on.
Well, that dancing groot...
To be clear I was never *lost*, although the film did try to lose my interest.
It was fun, but 7/10 fun.
As a television series, Farscape had the luxury of time. Filling the universe gives the writers hooks for future episodes, as the world is sustained each week there needs to be more content.
The Holy Grail is a retelling of a well known story, we understand who King Arthur is through cultural osmosis. We also have a history Monty Python. No matter the role, we know Cleese.
It's one thing to point at the screen and exclaim about all the things - they were plentiful and pretty, and another to appreciate what any of it means or why it matters. It's like going on holiday and booking in too many places. You feel stretched, and that you didn't have time to experience all the wonderful things you saw.
Well, that was a thing.
I had mixed feelings about this, so let me give some context.
I don't read comics as a rule; don't have the time or the inclination to buy physical things. What Marvel did really well was take Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, etc. and give each of them a stand-alone story for people like me. Then they made Avengers and it was great.
Guardians of the Galaxy started with the Avengers. They took these really developed characters, and the big complex universe, and tried to fit it into a single origin story-cum heroes journey. The result was occasionally entertaining but spread too thin. Perhaps that's the way to comics do it as well, but for me it didn't land with anywhere near as much impact as it could have. Great characters thrown away by too little screen time (the Collector, for example).
Road-trip Zarban?
Right, we need a new Dark Lord.
Captain Canada, you've the voice, and the camera. Go.
Hi Tom. Is there an update on your filming? I'd like to cut in your bits for timing, and I think that's what we're waiting on to hand over a cut for VFX
Post 'em if you got 'em.
My first, started today, 5 hour sit for initial line work and black shading.
Posted because it's a great song.
Noted, I'll update this evening and repost
It's been days, and I'm still annoyed at this film.
Show me one god-damned character arc. Just one.
PVT. Australian.
Joelistics. Australian.
Bad Dreems. Australian.
Captives. Australian.
With you on that FP, I'll revise it this evening.
(edit) Streamlined opening.
Zarban, does the crawl have to be so verbose? At around a minute in length, it's a quarter of the picture's run time.
I've put together a pass without any of the inserts, trying to focus on improving the pace and breaking up some of the lingering shots to keep it interesting.
Give me notes. Happy to pass over the .prproj file, no additional inserts means it's easy to re-link to correct media.
Hi new people!
