Our man Alex and my man Andy were over last night for fun hangs (along with other people, including their girlfriends and our forum's-own-Bathilda...'s-sister), and the AIFT reunion of sorts prompted an impromptu live performance.

It's set up as a playlist here, which I have to link to like this because I can't embed it.

But, for embedding, here's the first song. There is also Leonard and Steve.

Despite all appearances, I'm still around and still up for 3D tasks and the lightning shit.

Sending it to her is fine. I'm still a little spooked by the idea of super-public shares, but at this point things have died down enough that I'm not panicky about it anymore.

Also, the little Silent Running graphic in the livestream is another lettering project of mine. Drew this the night before the recording. I'm gettin' there.

This just played on my iTunes, and because I am a very shameless person

1. I listened to it
2. I was proud of it
3. I am now bumping this thread in case some folks missed it

Hah. That's the radio version.

The lyrics are up on the site. Click the liner notes button on the bottom right.

Faking This Dot Com.

Although I've always kind of liked the idea that nobody ever really knows what I said. :-P And I'm really glad to hear Leonard is getting some love, I think it might actually be my favesies.

Paulou came over and we watched this on Eddie's recommendation from one of the wrap-up episodes. It's available on Netflix here in the US, dunno about elsewhere.

It's delightful. Not much more to it than that, it's just a lovely little story. Thumbs up.

Ugh. I'm so sorry you're goin' through this, Pav.

That fireworks shot is stunning. I love the film you shot it with.

Creatively, I mean. Whether it's actually the result of shooting on high-contrast orthochromatic film or just fucking with a digital image makes no difference to me.

This was a fun episode. In case the disgusting reference we're making in the very beginning of the episode isn't clear... well, I'll wait until someone pieces it together before spoiling the joke for everyone.

Also, because making posters for Grab Bag episodes is always annoying and I've been getting into hand-lettering lately, I took a quick swing at a signage thing for the poster for this one. I don't like how jiggly the line weights get on "bag," but it's otherwise about par for the course on where I'm at with the lettering stuff so far.

I'm not at the point in my life yet where I... quite appreciate genealogy, as a thing. Whatever makes it compelling. My dad went through a big genealogy project a couple years ago, though, so I figure it's something I'll eventually phase into.
